This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300SD is a three-owner example that was sold new to the original owner in Georgia. It received a comprehensive repaint in the early-2000’s along with years of preventative maintenance when the second owner bought the car. This W116 is finished in original Astral Silver Metallic (735) over Black MB-Tex (101). Power comes from a 3.0-liter OM617 five-cylinder turbodiesel engine paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Features include R134-converted air conditioning, a rebuilt Becker Grand Prix head unit, a power sliding sunroof, and refinished Baroque (Bundt) wheels. The cabin is accented with Zebrano wood trim on the dashboard, center console, and shifter surround. The Becker Grand prix head unit has been rebuilt and functions properly including indicator lights and preset functions. Newer OEM floor mats have been installed with the Mercedes emblem embroidered on the corners.
