16” Rial wheels have been fitted to the car and come wrapped in a set of General G-Max tires measuring 225/50 on all four corners with date codes from 2022. Anti-lock disc brakes can be found fitted on all four corners with the master cylinder and brake hoses recently replaced by the current owner. A factory spare can be found mounted below the trunk floor. The seller notes that the gauge cluster light and rear reading lights are inoperable.
A wooden Momo Volante Sigma steering wheel frames the 160-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows just 24k miles from new.
The car was imported to the US in 1987 where it was first registered in North Carolina and later Florida under a single owner until 2022 when it was purchased by the seller. The Carfax report is clean showing no accidents or damage reports with mileage reported in 2000 and 2005. This 500SEL is now offered for sale by the current owner in Los Angeles, California with the original first-aid kit, a clean Carfax report and a clean Maryland title.

@HammerEd thanks for the info!
@Amine78 @boostin Shipping across the Atlantic to Rotterdam or Bremerhaven costs around 1500 plus origin and destination fees. It's actually cheaper than shipping from New York to San Francisco by truck
Good morning everyone. It’s the final day of the auction and I am available to answer any additional question that may be out there. The reserve is reasonable and below where this car was bid to last time around. I would love to see it go to a new home today.
@Amine78 it is certainly possible but I have no idea what it would cost. You will have to do your own research on that.
Hello Is it possible to deliver to Porto in Portugal and how much would it cost ? Thank you

@HammerEd Thanks for the comments. I viewed the car similarly - I loved the mods by well known period tuners as well as the significant documentation so thought it would be a nice complement to my '82 500SEL AMG that's white. I cleaned it up a bit but it certainly could use further clean up underneath and agree that dry ice would be a great solution. And then there are some odds and ends to be addressed as listed in the ad to make it 'perfect' from a functioning perspective. I was planning on doing that but decided to downsize my collection to only one 500SEL. The paint is quite nice and very presentable but not perfect by any means. Personally I would leave it as is but that will be up to the next owner.

For those like me, that have seen cars come and go for over 30 years (I am hiding my age), we can see beyond what the pictures and "sales prep" show. I see an great potential in this car, I love the period correct mods, and the Lorinser bonnet (go and find another one). Yes it needs a clean up, dry ice would help it, and the driver bolster, so what.. all small change. Love this car and I am in. @Boostin cool car!, great find.
@TheAMGKit a few more miles, that’s about it. And a lower reserve.
so what has changed about it since last yr.
@GASMotorcars unfortunately, the EQ does not work at this time. The stereo turns on, but there is no sound or reading on the EQ. I will also note that the foam surrounds of the Blaupunkt speakers is nearly all but disintegrated. I have not spent the time to diagnose the wiring. Give me a day or so and I'll get the video you requested.
@NYCdriver thank you for your comments. Much appreciated.
@Ilovebigtoys thanks for your post and completely agree with honesty and transparency on this site. I would also encourage all members to review a listing in full including the accompanying photos and previous listing if applicable before posting unproductive commentary. Had you looked at the photos and previous listing, you would see the import documentation with mileage and annual registrations with mileage since, as you had requested. As for paperwork from before that time, I don't have it and am not going to make any representations other than those that can be made with the documentation and information I have, all of which is included in this listing. You could very well be correct that this car had hundreds of thousands of miles or KMs on it before being imported. These cars, like many of the era that have now become collectible, were just plain 'cars' back in the day. They weren't all that special and most people didn't bother to save records. But in this case, the owner did, and I'm very happy about that so we at least have some insight into this car's cool history. In any case, for any members that are actually interested in the car, I'm available and happy to answer any questions, take any photos or videos, show the car in-person, or bring it to a shop for a PPI. As I stated in the beginning, I'm all about honesty and transparency. I'm happy to share everything I know about the car and based on that, will leave it to you to come to your own conclusions about the car.
@boostin does the EQ still work? Would love a video showing all the interior features working if you can.

@Ilovebigtoys I clicked on this because I was glad to see this car back on the market. FYI, you should go back and look at the last listing, this was discussed. Not getting too deep but these seats are quick to do that just based on time alone (I've had 5 or 6 cars over the years with them). May not be the car for you but sellers seems honest and good. Calling it a fraud isn't fair. Good luck to the seller.
I would encourage honesty and transparency on this site. This car changed from Km to Mas at "some point". It appears to me that whatever mileage was on this vehicle at that point is missing. Look at the Driver Seat Bolster! If the Oda was replaced in 1987 this vehicle could easily have 200K Km on the Autobahn in Germany. I would suggest Buyers be ware. This just don't pass the "smell test". I would ask for documents from the 1987 import showing mileage prior to or at import, plus annual service statements since. What is the true mileage of this vehicle? Paint, Interior and engine compartment etc is not pristine as you would find on a collector from 1981, even after being re-painted. This vehicle smells "fraud".
