This is VERY cool to see!
@sirmathrocksI was wondering the same, maybe @jtwoods4 knows?
Thanks!
@seller are you in a position to get us some videos? I'd love to see a video showing the car driving and a video showing all the features working.
@thembmarketThat's why I keep your site on my favorites list
@JE360GUYWere you watching this just to attempt to talk down what looks like an awesome example of a rare car? The Silver Arrows are more than a "gimmick" and if you don't understand why, do some homework on why that name has carried significant weight since the 1930's.
@Tom69agree to disagree. To a lot of us that's a selling point ;)
Nice seeing good upholstery work. The pattern will be slightly polarizing but the work itself is impressive. Nicely done!
These are so cool- sometimes the W108 gets more attention but THIS, this is such a good looking car. A bargain here and likely very rewarding to get behind the wheel. GLWTA!
Gorgeous in this color combo. How are the carbon ceramics on these?
@IlovebigtoysI clicked on this because I was glad to see this car back on the market. FYI, you should go back and look at the last listing, this was discussed. Not getting too deep but these seats are quick to do that just based on time alone (I've had 5 or 6 cars over the years with them). May not be the car for you but sellers seems honest and good. Calling it a fraud isn't fair. Good luck to the seller.
AH, that's bizarre. Likely a miscoding in the MB system for "Premium sound". Either way, I was jumping in to say this is a VERY rare example. GLWTA
@Shane_MilesAm I missing something? I don't see Burmester. Obviously that wasn't even related to MB in 2000
I bet this gets ALL the looks if it heads to the states.
@JCunninghamsecond that- one of the few convertibles I'd want to leave the top up on.
This has to be A+ garage decor at very least right?
A preemptive Merry Christmas to whoever gets this under the tree today!
@Majdaqel93HIGHLY doubt this is where this car sells. Remember current bid doesn't dictate value. I'm excited to watch this one.
What a BEAUTIFUL car. Congrats to the seller on a good presentation and fantastic coupe!
Beautiful!
This is why I love visiting this site. Thoughtful questions and answers from both sides....Can always learn a little something too. Cheers.
@ArmyGuy63Twist my arm
REALLY wish I was in the w116 market- this is super cool and funky. Having visions of driving this through modern city traffic and getting emotional. GLWTA!
While I'm not buying anything today I'm excited to see where these end up. The recent video from the Patina folks woke these up in my mind.
For anyone thinking newer is better, this is an exception. The M119 V8 was eons better than the later M113
W211's MIGHT be the best looking modern E-Class. Surely in White with a V8, this one's special.
@jimmieduffytrying to keep it that way ;)
LOts of back and forth here on importation. Seems the seller did their homework, leg work, and due diligence. Killer to see this available to us south of the border!
For those lucky enough to get seat time in one of these...it's unlike anything else. Purely primal.
Has anyone mentioned how cool a setup this 108 is? Weird options (power windows, floor shift, A/C) make this such a good little cruiser and likely loaded with personality.
At this stage, place bid and figure out logistics later!
@PhilippDoesn't appear to but they're easy to add these days!
Lots to love on this unique color combination. GLWTA!
@Pizdets4uSame here, this must be the most sinister Benz ever built. Amazing presentation and best of luck in the auction!
One of the few modern Mercs I can always get behind. (Daily driver is a 222), these are everything they should be as an S-Class and killer value right now.
Good to see this back here. One of the rarest W211's and in my humble opinion the prettiest. GLWTA!
Absolutely killer presentation on this- love the build and premise!
Can we talk about how it is that you can order paint colors from the 80s on cars today? There should be more of this.
Too bad this isn't importable for the US, probably would have sold. Fantastic presentation and example.
Just here for all the so fresh and so clean comments. Really though, how is this such a time capsule?
Strongly agree with @unscripted - this is a lovely example of a late r129. Sport, Xenons, and that color combo makes this cool.
Are any of the 13 cars unaccounted for?
Great start to the day seeing this listed here. Curious to see where this ends up in both price and with the location of the buyer. Awesome!
How are we not talking about the interior colors on this one? Fantastic!
@RubiboundS55 over S600 for me, just my humble opinion but AMG’s seem to hold up better over time
Any statistics on how rare this AMG kit is? I feel like this isn’t a common occurrence
Clean example! Amazing to see with such low mileage!
I know there's a stigma around these "baby Benzes" but they were so much fun to drive when they came out and so good looking!
WOW! Really nice presentation here, the paint looks wonderful!
What a sleeper! Some will have to drive to appreciate how good these cars are!
These cars always feel so interesting in Petrol- wish MB would bring back the color for modern examples
This is more like it! Can't wait to see where this lands- congrats to either party!
This will be one of those I'll kick myself for not buying in the coming years. What a fantastic example.
Someone's getting a sharp R129!
Man this is cool, love the plaid!
@moonshot1 good looking example! Hows the COMAND screen? Any fading?
Wowwww. The sound from that startup video is truly something to behold. I had no idea that the stock S65 made such a glorious rumble. 😎 The exhaust note makes me want this big beautiful beast even more than I already did! GLWA!
@Saccoagreed! Takes me back to the 90's
Good luck to the seller and an early congrats to the buyer, this is a killer example!
Good show gents, congrats to the buyer! This will age nicely!
@MB5683I had an SLK in Magma that my girlfriend loved driving...maybe it's one of those puppy scenarios where you bring it home and they fall in love?
Now this is cool to see! Definitely the right time to have this one market! (Love how muscular the 221 looks compared to the 222's)
@JthompsonNot even close! It'll be a sad day when diesel commuters die out.
Wow this is clean....this was certainly someone's baby
@MB5683she'll most likely get over it in time!
Love that this will outlast almost anything else on the road in this price point or $50k. Tempted to grab it and never worry about a daily again.
Congrats @erik_amg !!
@Armenian1000%
@LTbenzThose were definitely the good old days. I'd hope whoever buys this recognizes the value prop of this car as it is. Some light recon makes this a stellar 210.
@TheDanManTotally agree! Lots to enjoy about this one all things considered.
@Vlad600selYou and I will have to reconnect over a different one. Congrats @sebaf1
@Vlad600selI am and I appreciate the support. Man what a clean car...
This is such a cool spec, errmm, nothing to see here. Move along
@dean_laumbach- totally agree. These 210's just seem to have something special in the build. Too much tech has ruined that feeling.
Geez this is a cool one, perfect example of maintenance history > Mileage. Rather have one of these with records like this has all day. GLWTA!
These reman'd Becker Bluetooth units are seriously under-advertised. Had a couple in various cars from 202's to 140s, and a 107. There's something great about having the oem-look. Good luck with the sale!
@Dunfield80 Agreed on the 199-it's cool to see a 140 so clean, so many have been worn down and out in the States.
Glad to see the stock head unit in this- obsolete or not, it looks right.
