This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300D turbo is finished in Astral Silver (735) over a Blue MB-Tex (152) interior and powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-five paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Within the last year, the car underwent a fully documented glass-out repaint along with newly refinished Bundt wheels. Features include a power sunroof, automatic climate control, an updated head unit with new speakers, and power windows, locks, and passenger side mirror. Services since May 2020 include fresh fluids for the engine oil, transmission, and differential, along with an AC recharge, new auxiliary fan, and valve adjustment. Prior to the seller’s acquisition, the car is reportedly a single-family owned example with ownership and receipts showing the same last name since new. This W123 shows 223k miles and is offered with factory literature, the original Becker head unit, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Astral Silver (735) and features chrome-accented bumpers and trim, front yellow fog lights, an electric sliding sunroof, and an electric passenger-side mirror. Within the last year, this 300D received a full repaint in which all trim, glass, and lights were removed. Photos documenting the repaint are provided in the gallery. Notably, the car has no rust at all and has lived in California or Nevada since new. The power antenna and sunroof are currently inoperative.

The car is equipped with factory Bundt 14″ alloy wheels which were professionally refinished and wear 195/70 Michelin Defender tires. Per the seller’s mechanic, the front driver side wheel bearing should be replaced soon the new part will be included with the sale.

The cabin features seats upholstered in Blue MB-Tex (152) with matching blue door panels, carpets, and dash. Wood trim adorns the dashboard and center console. Equipment includes functioning automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, door locks, passenger side mirror, and an aftermarket head unit with new speakers. The seller added matching blue rear headrests and the driver-side visor has no vanity cover. The horn and antenna are both currently inoperative. A new blue dash with no cracks from Coverlay was installed and a receipt can be seen in the gallery.

Instrumentation includes a 125-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock. The analog clock is currently inoperative and additional auxiliary gauges include coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level which all function properly. The six-digit odometer shows 223k miles, approximately 4,000 of which were added by the current owner.

The 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel inline-five features a single Garrett turbocharger and Bosch fuel injection. Power was factory rated at 123 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and is sent to the rear wheels via a 722.3 four-speed automatic transmission. Services since May 2020 include fresh fluids for the engine oil, transmission, and differential, along with an AC recharge, new auxiliary fan, and valve adjustment. When new, the original owner reportedly installed a "Racor" water/fuel separator system with 2-Micron filters to ensure moisture from the tank is filtered prior to entering the main filter connected to the fuel pump.

for what is described as a high-quality repaint, it does not look like they got the color right. in many of these photos it looks far too grey. if done correctly, the color of the car would look like the color of the wheels.

looks like a really nice car otherwise, and I love the rear headrests, but the paint job would bug me. I say this as someone with a W123 in champagne that's a repaint, and my job wasn't perfect either. in my case it's a bit lighter in color; here it looks to have gone the other way.
