This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 190E AMG Widebody project comes fitted with an original AMG widebody kit and a Zender three-piece spoiler showing 124k miles from new. Finished in Black (040) over Palomino MB-Tex (174), power is provided by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes a sliding sunroof, cruise control, a power adjustable passenger-side mirror, eight-hole alloys, a Pioneer head unit and a Raid Turbo steering wheel. Maintenance performed by the seller includes new injectors, a new gas tank, a new radiator, new fuel pumps and more. This running 190E AMG widebody project is now offered for sale by the current owner with a spare set of new Euro headlights and a clean Ohio title.
The body is finished in Black (040) and features a full AMG widebody kit including front and rear bumpers, front and rear fenders, side skirts and a Zender three-piece spoiler. Part numbers have been provided by the seller in the walk-around video below. Mounted to the rear are 2.3-16 and AMG badges. Exterior equipment includes a sliding sunroof, an automatic antenna, front fog lamps and a power adjustable passenger-side mirror. The seller notes a cracked front bumper, cracked and fading paint, non-functioning fog lights, a cracked windshield and various rust spots. Currently installed are the factory U.S. spec headlights and the seller will be including a new set of Euro headlights with the sale.
Fitted to the car are larger 16” eight-hole alloy wheels which come wrapped in a set of Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires measuring 195/65 on all four corners. Signs of curb rash are present on the rear passenger-side wheel with all other wheels appearing in good condition.
The cabin is upholstered in Palomino MB-Tex (174) with a black dashboard and matching carpets. Zebrano wood trim can be found lining the center console and shows signs of cracking and fading. Interior features include automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, a Pioneer head unit and equalizer, and a Raid Turbo four-spoke steering wheel. The seller notes that many of the electronics are not functioning including the radio, window switches and climate control functions. Additional interior issues consist of fading carpet, missing trunk carpet, cracked plastic trim, a missing door panel and wear on the steering wheel. The seller notes that the dashboard is crack free.
The four-spoke Raid steering wheel frames analog instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer currently shows 124k miles from new.
This W201 is powered by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine which produces 120 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Service performed by the current owner includes new injectors, a rebuilt K-jet spider, new spark plugs, a new thermostat, an engine oil change, a new radiator, a new gas tank and new fuel pumps, filters and fuel level sending unit. The seller has noted that the airbox is missing.
This 190E shows history reported in both California and Oregon on the Carfax with a theft recovery report appearing in 1989. This running 190E AMG widebody project is now offered for sale by the current owner in Homer Glen, Illinois with a spare set of Euro headlights and a clean Ohio title.
A detailed walk-around and driving video has been provided by the seller below.
While the W201 190E was widely successful throughout its 11 year run, it seemed to receive less attention from period tuners as compared to its larger stablemates such as the W124 and C126. This W201 comes fitted with a rare AMG widebody kit which comes complete with wider front and rear fenders, sculpted front and rear bumpers and side skirts. Additional tuner add-ons include a Zender three-piece spoiler and a period-correct Raid steering wheel. While this example is in need of some attention, a dedicated enthusiast with the right attention to detail could turn this 190E into an extremely desirable example sporting these period modifications. Plus, the seller is throwing in some new Euro headlights to help you get started. With the added benefit of being a running and driving example, this W201 should prove to be a superb bargain when compared with its contemporary AMG widebody counterparts.

Pentas make this car thats for sure ! I havent seen another authentic widebody kit or w201 car for sale like this in a very long time.
Whoever gets this needs to put Pentas on it asap and fill up those fenders. Don't think you can get a better deal on any AMG widebody car

@raffi please do your research before commenting . Clearly this is not the car for you.
@raffi Look at the bumpers and fenders. That is far from a "regular" 190E. The example photo from an AMG brochure shows the comparison in the top right ;)
What wide Body ???? This is a regular 190...The post does Not match with the photos and the video,, Can explain ?
Rare car, great way into Premerger with one of the rarest of them all
