This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 230CE was ordered through the Nuernberg Branch in Germany and was imported to Canada in 2009. The current owner bought the car in 2019 and has added roughly 2,400 kilometers and kept regular service records since purchasing. Finished in Arctic White (147) over a Palomino Leather (274) interior, power comes from a 2.3-liter M102 Inline-4 paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include European-style headlamps, 17" AMG monoblock wheels, dual-zone climate control, and power windows. Two years of maintenance records will be included in the sale documenting regular oil changes along with new spark plugs, a fluid flush, a new valve cover and gasket, and a new accessory belt and tensioner. This 230CE currently shows 157,456 kilometers (~97k miles) on the analog odometer and is being offered by the current owner with recent service records, an additional set of OEM wheels, factory literature, two keys, and a clean Canada title.
Finished in Arctic White (147) with contrasting Grey lower cladding, the body presents original paintwork and shows two notable areas of corrosion along each of the rear wheel arches. The seller notes this is the only rust on the body and is repairable. Exterior features include European glass headlamps with dark amber marker lamps, a painted power sunroof, and a power antenna.
This 230CE wears 17” AMG Monoblock wheels wrapped in Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires measuring 245/40 with original painted center caps installed. The wheels show curb rash around the machined lips and some spotting in the finish. The original 15" wheels will also be included in the sale.
The cabin is trimmed in Palomino Leather (274) across the seats, door cards, head rests, armrest, center console, and lower dashboard. The steering wheel and upper dash are finished in contrasting Black leather. The original Palomino carpets remain with the car and are shown under all-weather mats in the gallery below. Zebrano wood adorns the center console, and shift knob. Various cracks can be seen in the shifter surround. A rebuilt Becker head unit remains intact and has been retrofitted with Bluetooth capabilities. Additional features include dual-zone climate control, a driver’s side front airbag, manually adjustable seats, and a dual tone horn.
The black leather steering wheel frames a 220-kph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer featuring an analog clock, along with gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, instant economy, and oil pressure. The six-digit analog odometer now shows 157,456 kilometers.
The 2.3-liter M102 inline-four was factory rated at 134 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque when new. Two years of maintenance records will be included in the sale documenting regular oil changes along with new spark plugs, a fluid flush, a new valve cover and gasket, and a new accessory belt and tensioner.
This 230CE currently shows 157k kilometers on the analog odometer and is being offered by the current owner with recent service records, an additional set of OEM wheels, factory literature, two keys, and a clean Canada title.

Did this meet reserve? Why was this one not bid higher?

@Roberthickey698 Hey, I’m not with the car right now I’m out of the country. But suspension is great, hydraulic suspension is holding great, no knocking or anything. As per mechanical I think I throttle body cleaning could be used as it idles a little rough.
Could you post a video of a start-up and a drive? Are there any concerns with mechanical condition from drivetrain through to suspension?

@W124300CE YES! On board with you. When i purchase my W201 cosworth we will have a photoshoot
@1999_G500 Hi!, so the rear left fender has a little bubble forming, no corrosion but a bubble, same for the front left fender where it meets the plastic guard. An underside picture can be provided as well not a problem
Can the seller comment on areas and extent of rust, and potentially upload undercarriage photos?
Woah, nice CE! I have a '89 300CE located in Montreal too. Haven't seen you around, but I can attest that these cars have enough power to enjoy the ride, while the interior/exterior always turns heads. Good luck with sale, and I will be keeping an eye on how much this beauty goes for. (Y)
