This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC was initially built for the Japanese Market where it was registered through 2016 until it was moved to Germany. The current owner purchased the car in late 2016 and moved it from Germany to the United States where it’s remained registered in Virginia since. Finished in Arctic White (147) over Blue Leather (262), power is provided by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes heated and power-adjustable front seats with memory, a power tilt/slide sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, self-leveling rear suspension, a power passenger-side mirror and an aftermarket radio. Additionally this coupe features an AMG MOMO M38 steering wheel, an AMG-stamped front bumper, AMG-style 5-spoke wheels, and more. Services under the owners care include new tires, a fresh alignment, new spark plugs, new plug wires, a new distributor, a new fuel filter, and a transmission and oil service. Records under the owner’s care will be included in the sale. This 560SEC shows 52k kilometers (~32k mi.) and is now offered for sale by the current owner in Virginia with a clean Carfax report and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The pillarless body is finished in Arctic White (147) with matching lower body cladding separated by chrome trim along the beltline. An AMG body kit is shown with the front bumper stamp shown in photo 133. Exterior equipment includes an automatic antenna, a power sunroof, headlamp wiper/washers, front fog lamps, a power passenger-side door mirror and a heated rear window. As a Japanese-market example, this also benefits from European headlamps and clear corner lights. The body is in good condition showing no signs of corrosion or damage and no accidents appearing on the Carfax report.
The aftermarket staggered 18” 5-spoke wheels are modeled after the BBS-produced AMG Aero II’s and wear Lexani tires measuring 235/40 and 265/35 respectively. A spare tire is located in the trunk with a factory tool kit and a factory first aid kit. The seller notes H&R springs along with Bilstein shocks were installed shortly after they acquired the car.
The cabin is upholstered in Blue Leather (262) with a blue leather dashboard, blue carpet and headliner and Burl Walnut wood trim which lines the center console, dashboard and door panels. Additional veneer is shown on the center console storage box. Both front seats are heated and power adjustable with two-position memory for both passenger and driver. Additional interior appointments include automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic seat belt presenters, and an aftermarket head unit. A custom speaker enclosure is shown in the trunk with two subwoofers and a 4-channel amplifier.
The AMG-stamped MOMO M38 steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation including a 300km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The cluster is stamped with the mid-90's AMG logo. A digital outside temperature sensor is included at the bottom of the instrument cluster. The six-digit odometer currently shows 52k kilometers (~32k mi.).
This C126 is powered by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 which produces 272 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Services under the owners care include new tires, a fresh alignment, new spark plugs, new plug wires, a new distributor, a new fuel filter, and a transmission and oil service. Records under the owner’s care will be included in the sale. Underbody photos have been provided by the seller and are viewable in the photo gallery.
This 560SEC shows 52k kilometers (~32k mi.) and is now offered for sale by the current owner in Virginia with a clean Carfax report and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The seller has included the following videos:
The C126 500SEC was an icon of design that defined an era and with the help of AMG, took luxury and excess to a whole new standard. This example appears to have received AMG treatment from front to rear including AMG bumpers, side skirts, the MOMO wheel, and the cluster. The AMG stamp on the dial tells us this car was likely modified a short period after it was sold new in the mid 90's. The interior shows a nice level of patina and offers a slew of options for enjoyment at every level. Those seeking a purer experience in 2026 can absolutely enjoy the car in it's current driver condition and live the life of an 80's outlaw on the daily. Whatever your plan may be, this SEC offers an unparalleled experience and appreciating value.

@drosemont1 Japanese 560 cars were not all 300hp/220kW versions. 560’s from the UK were. Note that the motor did not come equipped with tri-Y manifolds, has a smog pump and a factory catalytic converter. A side note, the side skirts have jack covers that look to be molded and blended in. Originals used genuine Mercedes jack covers and were not molded in.Beautiful car Glws One day maybe$41,500 bid placed by @Jj123vw

@OriginalAndRare All Japan cars, this model year, were fitted with the 299hp engine, there is no Cat fitted from the factory, Data card confirms. They may have fitted the Cat once it arrived in Japan for compliance. HV will be stamped on the engine block following the number$20,250 bid placed by @aammourahR129

@mpando I'm not sure what you mean by period correct wheels. Most of the SEC's in the 80's and 90's had 17's, but 18 inch wheels and bigger started becoming more popular in the 90's. It's a matter of personal preference. Both look good. The stance in my opinion is the most important thing. If the ride height isn't spot on the aesthetics won't look good regardless what size wheel you have.$19,500 bid placed by @dlee888

Are these period correct wheels?A video has been added to the listing.@Nyaze The engine is stock. Pre-merger cars were tuned by AMG which was a separate company in 1990 and was not yet owned by Mercedes Benz.Nice car sir wish you luck... Just one question please, Is it original AMG from the factory from engine gear and all or just tuned with kits and accessories ?My factory original blue Recaro C81’s are perfect for this car! 1. No not while I have owned the car. 2. The rear self leveling system was serviced within the last two years. I know the fluid was flushed in 2017 and again recently. It has not been bypassed. 3. No paint or rust repair under my ownership. 4. No rust anywhere. See underside pics. 5. Odometer readings are documented in the import paperwork. 6. I have my import documents. I didn't ask the seller for his documents when I purchased the car. 7. Everything functions properly. AC is is ice cold and has not been converted. I recently had it filled with R12. The gas gauge goes past the full line when I fill it up, but the light goes on when gas is low so it hasn't bothered me. 8. Yes, the stereo was professionally installed by Kartunes in Sterling VA. You'll have to ask them if they cut anything on the inside when they installed it. I'm not aware of anything, but I'm not a car stereo expert. It sounds great and is a big improvement over the stock system.Hi, beautiful color combo and spec! A few questions for you. 1. Have the timing chain guides and timing chain tensioner ever been replaced? If so, when and by whom? 2. Has the rear self-leveling suspension (SLS) system ever been serviced, rebuilt, bypassed, or converted? Any records available? 3. Has the car ever had paintwork, bodywork, or rust repair performed? If so, what was done and when? 4. Is there any rust present under the rear windshield seal, in the jack points, rocker panels, wheel arches, trunk floor, or spare tire well? 5. Is the current odometer reading documented through import paperwork, Japanese records, inspection records, or service history? 6. Are any service records, ownership records, import documentation, Japanese auction sheets, or maintenance records from Japan or Germany included with the sale? 7. Does everything function properly, including the climate control, cruise control, sunroof, seat belt presenters, power seats, heated seats, power antenna, and all gauges? 8. Was the $5,000 stereo installation professionally completed? Were any factory panels modified, cut, or drilled during installation?.$16,000 bid placed by @Machtan

@PGT_FTW I use the two you mentioned and Silver Star Motors in Vienna. What local Mercedes mechanic do you use? (I've seen your car at Intersport and Ashburn Euro)I added the front spoiler AMG stamping pic. I will do the others when I'm in VA Tuesday.I am currently out of town, but will be back in VA Tuesday and I will take pics of the AMG stampings on the spoilers.@B613P Yes, the spoilers are genuine AMG. I will upload pics shortly.$15,000 bid placed by @Ishcap
Beautiful car. Is the body kit, bumpers and side skirts genuine AMG parts, and if so, can you post photos of the manufacturing stamped logos? Thank you.Beautiful SEC. These cars in white are next level cool. Perfect build with spot on ride height. I've always said 18s on a SEC is the "right" size wheel. The only small thing I see is the loose center wood panel where the shift lever and window switches are located. Honestly, this is not un-common. This car should do extremely well.@Ntrepid I would but I'm out of town this weekend. I've been there in the past. They always have cool cars there. You should bring this to Katie’s in Great Falls tomorrow starting around 6A (and done by 9A)Good evening June, this vehicle is MAGNIFICENT. I'm not a fan of white vehicles but your 560 is a killer. It's giving me butterflies 😍. I hope to be one of the finalist for this gem 💎 of a car.@drosemont1 NOPE ITS A 272HP CAR AS STATET IF IT HAS A CATALYST IN THE EXHAUST SYSTWM AS IT SEEMS TO HAVE AS A JAPANESE 1990 EXAMPLE.Hello MBMarket community and thank you for the opportunity to offer my car for sale. I purchased the car from a dealer in Germany in 2016 who purchased it in Japan and had it shipped to Germany. I shipped it to the USA in March of 2017 and took delivery in Newark, NJ. I drove the car home from Newark and took it straight to my Mercedes mechanic and had him change all the fluids and perform any maintenance he deemed necessary. I installed new tires, a stereo system that cost $5k in 2018, and a suede headliner in 2019. Aside from the headliner and stereo system the car is exactly as I bought it and has always been garaged and maintained with an open wallet by a Mercedes mechanic who services only Mercedes. It gets tons of attention and thumbs up everywhere I go. The higher compression Euro engine in this car pulls hard and is much stronger than what was offered to USA buyers. I am a car enthusiast and maintain all my cars in top condition. I'm maniacal about timely oil changes and routine maintenance. If there's an issue it gets fixed. Everything on the car works including the headlight washers and wipers as well as the headlight adjustment feature which USA spec cars did not have. I'm downsizing my collection and am offering this rare Japanese spec 560SEC AMG to a new buyer to look after and care for it like I have. Good luck and please ask any questions.$12,000 bid placed by @pillestein
