This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC was initially built for the Japanese Market where it was registered through 2016 until it was moved to Germany. The current owner purchased the car in late 2016 and moved it from Germany to the United States where it’s remained registered in Virginia since. Finished in Arctic White (147) over Blue Leather (262), power is provided by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes heated and power-adjustable front seats with memory, a power tilt/slide sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, self-leveling rear suspension, a power passenger-side mirror and an aftermarket radio. Additionally this coupe features an AMG MOMO M38 steering wheel, an AMG-stamped body kit, AMG-style 5-spoke wheels, and more. Services under the owners care include new tires, a fresh alignment, new spark plugs, new plug wires, a new distributor, a new fuel filter, and a transmission and oil service. Records under the owner’s care will be included in the sale. This 560SEC shows 52k kilometers (~32k mi.) and is now offered for sale by the current owner in Virginia with a clean Carfax report and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The pillarless body is finished in Arctic White (147) with matching lower body cladding separated by chrome trim along the beltline. An AMG body kit is shown with the front bumper stamp shown in photo 133. Exterior equipment includes an automatic antenna, a power sunroof, headlamp wiper/washers, front fog lamps, a power passenger-side door mirror and a heated rear window. As a Japanese-market example, this also benefits from European headlamps and clear corner lights. The body is in good condition showing no signs of corrosion or damage and no accidents appearing on the Carfax report.
The aftermarket 18” 5-spoke wheels are modeled after the BBS-produced AMG Aero II’s and wear Lexani tires measuring 235/40. A spare tire is located in the trunk with a factory tool kit and a factory first aid kit. The seller notes H&R springs along with Bilstein shocks were installed shortly after they acquired the car.
The cabin is upholstered in Blue Leather (262) with a blue leather dashboard, blue carpet and headliner and Burl Walnut wood trim which lines the center console, dashboard and door panels. Additional veneer is shown on the center console storage box. Both front seats are heated and power adjustable with two-position memory for both passenger and driver. Additional interior appointments include automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic seat belt presenters, a telescoping steering column, and an aftermarket head unit. A custom speaker enclosure is shown in the trunk with two subwoofers and a 4-channel amplifier.
The AMG-stamped MOMO M38 steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation including a 300km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The cluster is stamped with the mid-90's AMG logo. A digital outside temperature sensor is included at the bottom of the instrument cluster. The six-digit odometer currently shows 52k kilometers (~32k mi.).
This C126 is powered by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 which produces 272 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Services under the owners care include new tires, a fresh alignment, new spark plugs, new plug wires, a new distributor, a new fuel filter, and a transmission and oil service. Records under the owner’s care will be included in the sale. Underbody photos have been provided by the seller and are viewable in the photo gallery.

The C126 500SEC was an icon of design that defined an era and with the help of AMG, took luxury and excess to a whole new standard. This example appears to have received AMG treatment from front to rear including AMG bumpers, side skirts, the MOMO wheel, and the cluster. The AMG stamp on the dial tells us this car was likely modified a short period after it was sold new in the mid 90's. The interior shows a nice level of patina and offers a blank canvas to someone who wants to complete the build. Alternatively, you could enjoy the car in it's current driver condition interior and live the life of an 80's outlaw on the daily. Whatever your plan may be, this SEC offers excellent bones and appreciating value.
