This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SEC is reportedly 1 of 307 units produced for the 1993 model year and powered by a 6.0-liter V12 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The car was acquired in 2015 by the seller, who subsequently refurbished the car over a six-year period. Work is said to include refinishing the Black Pearl Metallic paintwork, overhauling the transmission, suspension, braking, and cooling systems, as well as replacement of the ignition components, engine mounts, and interior parts. The car has also been fitted with AMG-style bodywork, AMG exhaust, and BBS-made 18″ AMG Aero II wheels. Additional equipment includes heated and power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rear window shade, a sunroof, and a factory stereo. Now showing under 53k miles, this 600SEC is now offered with four spare keys, additional parts, service records, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Delaware title in the seller’s name.
The seller states that the body was stripped, fitted with AMG-style lower bodywork, and subsequently refinished in Black Pearl Metallic (199). Features include headlight wipers, a power sunroof, fog lights, tinted windows, rear parking antenna posts, and a retractable power antenna. Images of the refurbishment are shown in the gallery below.
BBS-made 18″ Aero II wheels have AMG-crest center caps and are mounted with 255/45 Nokian zLine tires. Following refurbishement, the wheels reportedly underwent an additional 20 hours of hand-polishing to perfect the lips. Additional work performed during current ownership included replacement of the brake discs, pads, and shoes, as well as the suspension bushings, idler arm, and front shock absorbers according to the seller. This particular example is fitted with the optional SLS & ADS suspension (217).
The interior features power-adjustable and heated front seats upholstered in Gray leather (268A) with color-coordinated door panels, carpets, and floor mats, while burl wood trim accents the dashboard, center console, and doors. Amenities include memory settings, dual-zone automatic climate control, front seat belt butlers, folding rear headrests, a power rear window shade, and a cassette stereo. The car is also equipped with airbags for the driver and front passenger. The OEM sound system was refurbished by the current owner, including a BeckerAutosound-modified OEM head unit with a 3.5mm AUX jack for expanded connectivity to modern-age devices. The Bose power amplifier, which was exclusive to the 1993 model year, was re-capped due to leaking electrolytic capacitors.
A replacement wood-trimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock, as well as gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows under 53k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the seller.
Work performed by the seller on the 6.0-liter M120 V12 is said to include powder-coating the valve covers, rebuilding the tandem pump, throttle bodies, injection harness, mass air-flow harness, starter/alternator harness, balancer, as well as replacement of the following components:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, which is also said to have been overhauled during current ownership. The seller states that the prop shaft center support, bearings, flex disks, and differential seals were also replaced, and an AMG exhaust system was installed. Additional underside images are provided in the gallery.
Photos showing various stages of the cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment are provided in the gallery below. A majority of the work was completed by the owner but some items - including the reportedly "five-figure" paint job - were completed by professionals.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in California, Oregon, and Delaware.
