If paid, I can hold the car in storage for a couple weeks, no problem, no charge.
@2hlinc any issues holding the car for a week or so if it's paid immediately?

Hello Denis, I can transport the car to anywhere in continental US, but unfortunately I don't have connections overseas. Domestic rates are about $.85 per mile in an open trailer. I'm sure Europe could be worked out, however. Thanks for your question.

Hello, I have a question if you can also arrange transport to the port and delivery to Europe and how much it would cost, thanks for the information. Denis

There are no leaks in the hydraulics and the top works perfectly. I haven't been able to find a repair order however, except that the VMI shows that the valve block, top hydraulic system, was replaced under warranty in 1997. There is no dry rot on any bushings or hoses or belts. Some hoses have been replaced in previous years, as well as the engine wiring harness, as mentioned. The engine oil has just been changed and a new battery installed. While I am online, I will add that the blue "D" sticker shown on the rear, and the small badge on the grill have been removed.
Beautiful car! Do top hydraulics leak/have they ever been serviced? Any dry rot? hoses/bushings? Thanks!
@KRGMerc the seller is correct, no factory hardtop was ever offered. There was at least one aftermarket hardtop that I've seen on European models, from a company called Weisman I think. But, it was very very expensive, very heavy, and was not a simple plug and play like the R129 hardtops. Given the magnificent insulation and soundproofing of the standard cloth top, I can't imagine anyone really wanting one. Plus, you'd have to store the damn thing whenever not on the car.
These cars came with only a thick quiet soft top, glass rear window. I am not aware of any aftermarket hardtops.
Does this car have a removable hardtop
Thank you PeoriaBenz, for your positive comment. Yes, I agree with the statement that the 124A is underappreciated. These are great to drive, especially with the top down!

These 124 Cabriolets are underappreciated. That being said, this is a very nice example with classic color combination, that presents well, with solid documentation. If I didn’t already have one, I would be most interested in this one.
@allenman No rust is present anywhere on the body or underneath. This car was purchased in 2003 by a good friend in the Mercedes Club, whom I had met previously. I know that he took extremely good care of this car and used it mainly for car shows and club events. I also know that it was stored each winter and meticulously maintained. The photos of the underside show no rust except on the muffler weldments, which are surface rust only.
Rusty?
