This 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK430 Sport cabriolet was delivered new to the first owner in Jupiter, FL in April 2001 and remained under their ownership until 2016. The car is finished in Brilliant Silver (744) over a two-tone Galaxy Blue and Orion Grey (222) leather. Power is provided by a 4.3-liter M113 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The Sport package includes AMG styling with sculpted bumpers, side skirts, exhaust tip, and 17” AMG wheels. Features include a Blue power-retractable convertible top, xenon headlights, power-adjustable and heated front seats, automatic climate control, COMAND infotainment with navigation, and a CD changer. This A208 indicates 29,662 miles and is offered by the selling dealer in New York with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Brilliant Silver (744) and features xenon headlights with washers and a Blue power-retractable convertible top with a heated glass rear window. The Sport package includes AMG styling with sculpted bumpers, side skirts, exhaust tip, and 17” AMG wheels.
Factory staggered 17″ AMG Monoblock wheels measuring 17 x 7.5” up front and 17 x 8.5” in the rear are wrapped with Hankook VentusS1 Noble2 tires measuring 225/45 and 245/40 respectively. The wheels remain in excellent condition and retain their factory painted face and machined lip.
The cabin is upholstered in special-order Galaxy Blue and Orion Grey (222) leather with color-coordinated trim throughout including a Galaxy Blue upper dash and steering wheel. Black birdseye maple veneers accent the center console and door panels. Amenities include automatic climate control, power-adjustable and heated front seats with position memory, cruise control, and COMAND infotainment with navigation.
A Galaxy Blue leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 29,662 miles and all pixels displaying the time and outside temperature are in working order.
The 4.3-liter M113 V8 produced 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque when new. A fresh oil and filter change was performed in March 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
The August 2021 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration and service history in Florida, Washington, and California. Videos have been provided below showing a startup and view of the engine bay, as well as the Blue soft top in operation.
When it comes to functional 4-seater convertibles, the choices have never been plentiful. Thankfully, the CLK has offered owners functionality without sacrificing style and the desire for a top down driving experience. The naturally aspirated M113 has proven itself as one of the most reliable engines and paired to the 722.6 transmission, can reach 200k+ miles with regular maintenance. With less than 30k miles on this example, potential buyers should get thousands of miles of enjoyment while still being able to pass the acquisition off as an investment to their significant other. Values have begun to rise for clean, low-mileage and well-preserved W208 Mercedes and this one is striking with its special order color combination. The classic Brilliant Silver paint is the perfect compliment to the Blue soft top and on the interior, the two-tone Blue and Grey leather truly ties the car together. As if it wasn’t apparent, we love the bold interior, specifically the Blue Steering wheel and upper dash. To top it off, this example is nicely optioned with the AMG styling package which drastically improves the aesthetics with a full AMG bodykit and Monoblock wheels. This is a special CLK and one that will always turn heads whether you’re headed to the links or next weekend’s cars & coffee.
