This 2002 Mercedes-Benz G500 was sold and registered new in Florida with subsequent registrations noted in Ohio from 2005 through the present. The current owner is noted to be the third and acquired the vehicle in 2021. They’ve added approximately 21k miles under their ownership and the current odometer reads 174k miles. Finished in Dark Turquoise Metallic (6257) over a Black leather interior, this SUV is powered by a 5.0L M113 engine driving all four wheels. Equipment includes a power tilt/slide sunroof, power heated front seats, a heated rear bench seat, upgraded headlamps, and three lockable differentials. More than $40k of documented service records are included with the G500 showing history since new. Recent service includes a new serpentine belt, pulley, brake pads, and an oil service. All the records have been photographed and are included in the gallery. This G500 is now offered for sale by the current owner with one key and books, the original tool kit, the first aid kit, a Carfax report and a rebuilt Ohio title.
According to the owner this G500 was issued a rebuilt title due to the mistake of leaving the vehicle outside in the rain with the sunroof open for a prolonged period of time thus resulting in an insurance claim that totaled the vehicle. The exterior is finished in Dark Turquoise Metallic (6257) and shows clear coat failure on the fender flares, roof, and mirror caps. Additionally, the front bumper shows heavy rock chips and a dent behind one of the fog lamps. Rust is noted along the rain guides on the roof, at the rear door hinges and handle, on the side door hinges, and inside the fuel door. Some scratches and chips can be seen across the body showing general use. Exterior equipment includes upgraded headlamps with heated washers, halogen fog lamps, a heated windshield washer system, a power tilt/slide sunroof, and a rear-mounted spare tire with paint-matched cover.
Factory 18x7.5” wheels wear Yokohama all-season tires measuring 265/60 at all four corners. Coil suspension and disc brakes are tucked behind each wheel and new brake pads were installed in 2023. The wheels show some scratches and wear.
The cabin is trimmed in Black leather with matching leather on the upper door panels and dashboard while Burl Walnut wood trim lines the center console. Both front seats are power adjustable and heated with three-position memory and the rear bench seat is heated on each side. Interior features include a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, COMAND infotainment and a Bose audio system. All components in the cabin were replaced including the carpet, seat covers, switches, and floor mats. The glove box latch is broken and the fuse cover is missing a clip. A spare Android-powered head unit is included. The air conditioning is noted to be inoperable and the sunroof does not open.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer with a central-mounted digital display as well as a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel gauge, coolant temperature and digital displays for outside temperature and time. The digital odometer shows 174k original miles. No pixels are missing in the display.
This G500 is powered by a 5.0-liter M113 V8 which is factory rated at 302 horsepower and 336 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission and a dual-speed transfer case.

@Royal I did sell it. This was the lowest priced g500 in the country. A little tlc and the next owner will enjou many more years of driving enjoyment.
@Dchesrown Has anyone purchased it yet, im interested! [email protected]
I do hope that MB auction charges the bidder and bans him from any future auctions. He had zero intentions on completing the sale.
I was bidding on another one at another site. And sort of forgot about this one. [email protected]
@Dchesrown not sure how but shoot me a note on here to make a deal. Not worried about the CEL.
@MrDrProfEvil let me know if you want it.
The winning bidder backed out because the check engine light came on. The code was catalyst efficiency. If someone else wants it let me know.
@Drcuevas809 haha exactly! If you won't take it I will!

@Dchesrown I should add if the winning bidder wants to come this week I am available Thursday and Friday.
FYI. I just wanted to make sure I let whomever wins the auction know. I will be out of town from this Saturday to next Thursday. I can arrange pick up at the airport if needed, or meet for delivery anytime after the 26th. The next bid reserve is off so don't bid if you don't want to own it:)

@Jthomasson The valve cover gaskets have been replaced a few times. There is some weeping as to be expected on one of these with this many miles. I sometimes have it parked in the same spot for several days and could get a few drips but nothing I was concerned about.

@Dchesrown good to know. As far as leaks - I was actually asking about coolant/oil type leaks. Thanks.
@Jthomasson Here is an issue that I am currently having. The power driver seat switch works to move the seat back 1/2 the time. The memory settings work 100% of the time. I have it set in a far back position so If my wife moves it up I can move it back. Not sure if this is water related or not. I did have a leak from the top where the antenna was. I sealed it up and the mats now stay dry if it is outside in the rain. Before I would get some water on the drivers floor mat. The Locks and windows all currenlty function as designed, so do the heated seats. As I stated earlier the speakers need replaced and I have never tried the cd player front or back. Let me know if there are any more questions. Less than 2hrs. to go. I would anticipate a few more bids in the last hour.
Have you experienced any electrical issues due the water intrusion? Any current leaks?
M113-Powered G500 with tons of records for the price of a fancy golf cart. Guess which one offers higher ROI.
It is going to sell. If you want it bid $.
Just to add a little more on the G. I set a low reseve so it is going to sell today. In the time I have owned it I used it to commute to and from work a 50 mile round trip. It crusies out great, no vibrations at speed. I usally set the cruise control at 80. I have averaged 14.1 MPG in the summer and a little less in the winter due to the differince in the summer and winter fuel in Ohio. I can pick up the new owner at the Columbus airport(CMH) if they want to fly in and drive home. I sold my other Mercedes on the site and it was a seamless deal. I will provide the new owner with the clear title, service records, used weathertech mats, a new set of sparkplugs, wires and the new android radio I purchased but did not install. The radio looks like the factory unit and is supposed to work with the steering wheel controls but allow you to sync your phone. It will need some new speakers as a few don't put out any sound. My to do list had I kept it was to repair the climate control, replace the rear shocks, install radio and new speakers and have it repainted. It will be due for brake service soon as well. Instead I purchased a new car and just don't have the parking space so I decided to sell it.
@NEluxury You can see all the history on the carfax. The water intrusion happend in 2016. The AC condenser was replced on 1/13/2017. The AC stopped working in 2021 and the previous owner then sold it to me. I did not have it diagnosed because I did not care about AC. He mentioned that it proably needed a new condenser but he had purchased a new G and was done spending $ on this one.
Is the AC issue diagnosed or has the unit been removed? When did the water intrusion happen?
@Ag13 the miles are accurate only 174000 miles with 3 owners. I purchased the car from the 2nd owner. I drove it the additional 21.000 miles myself. Service records show the mileage is accurate and documented.

Hi there, If you dont mind me asking, have few questions: did you change/replace the odometer? What is the story behind the mileage roll back on carfax? Did you put the 21k miles on the top of 250k miles , and it is around 271k miles? Thanks

@Corgi22 Missed this one. No musty smell.
@Corgi22 The factory phone is no longer installed so you get the warning message.
What's the "One Malfunction" shown in drive video?
Is there any musty smell at all remaining from the water damage?
Looks great for its age!
"Well cared for..." in the headline when the car was left in the rain long enough to total it? Who writes this stuff? I mean come on!
