Wow, this feels like a great deal. Thank you.
I was bidding on another one at another site. And sort of forgot about this one. [email protected]
@Dchesrownnot sure how but shoot me a note on here to make a deal. Not worried about the CEL.
@Ilovebigtoys those mufflers with two tips, either straight or angled down, as this car would have had, have been NLA for a while now. If you look, you'll see more and more have been replaced with the single outlet more like a 4cyl 123 would have had. I'm hoarding a NOS one for whenever my muffler shop in Piedmont opens back up. I'm in Atlanta, and have a silver 79 Euro, I've never seen this car around. Color is great.
@hobbsm3 No knock on the car, I like oddballs. The gold on scala 500se that sold here was mine. Via consignment. And I have a plaid / silver euro 116.
So, this is basically the least desirable engine for a w126 car. But the odd interior makes up for it. Will see where this goes.
@stewill any paint work over the years on this one? Looks like a new inner pad for the rear seat is probably in order. I have a 79 euro 280SE, which interestingly has a different air filter set up. Great looking car.
Hi seller, great looking car. How’s the headliner? And is the start button / center console wearing? I can’t tell from the pictures. Thanks!
That was a great buy!
One note, the ad states this is an airbag car, it's not. Most people here probably know that, but it is an ABS car which is nice to have. Did US cars get ABS in 83? 107, and 123 only in Europe, not sure about 126.
I agree the MB guys that a set of Ronal wheels or Pentas would look great, and maybe a set of mud flaps for that real ROW feel. Unusual spec with no sunroof, but orthopedic seats. Also has early / coupe door lock pulls, and of course that interior. That fabric is available from cabrio.de Looked on their site and it’s there. I found plaid for my euro 116 there and other than it’s not faded it’s the same. So, easy to fix that drivers seat or leave it covered.
Just found your site, I love this rig. No mention of the webasto heater. Does it still work? Really interesting options on this rig.
