This 2006 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG was first titled in Nevada and later spent much of its life in Oregon before moving to Texas in 2022. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over Exclusive Graphite/Anthracite AMG Leather (581), it is powered by a hand-built 6.0-liter Bi-turbo V12 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes Active Body Control suspension, 19” AMG wheels, Distronic, Bi-Xenon headlamps, Parktronic, Keyless-Go, heated and ventilated dynamic front seats, power-adjustable rear seating, rear door and rear-window sunshades, four-zone climate control, soft-close doors, and a glass sunroof. RENNtech upgrades consist of an ECU tune, intercooler upgrade, and digital suspension lowering module. Additional modifications include a Supersprint exhaust, wheel-stud conversion, and Sony touchscreen head unit. The digital odometer currently shows 76k miles. More than $30k has been spent on documented maintenance, repairs, and related parts during current ownership since 2023, including extensive ABC suspension work and a remanufactured transmission and torque converter installed in July 2026. This S65 AMG is now offered with a binder of service records, stock exhaust components, optional catless downpipes, a Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.
The body is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features AMG-specific front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and quad exhaust outlets. Exterior equipment includes Bi-Xenon headlamps with washers, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, Parktronic parking sensors, auto-dimming mirrors, heated windshield washers, soft-close doors, and a power-closing trunk. Cosmetic imperfections include small chips on the driver-side mirror, a paint chip to the right of the rear license plate, and a scratch along the lower left portion of the decklid where it meets the rear bumper. Additional scratches and chips are present along the underside of the front bumper. Carfax reports minor front damage in April 2017, a very minor rear accident in October 2021 with no airbag deployment, and another minor damage report in December 2025. Based on a visual inspection, the seller believes the front and rear bumpers have been repainted as a result.
Factory 19” AMG double-spoke wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 245/40 up front and 275/35 at the rear. The tires have 2023 date codes on the front and late 2022 codes on the rears. One wheel was repaired for bends in 2024, while the full set was subsequently refurbished and powder coated. They currently present very well with only a few minor cosmetic imperfections. A wheel-stud conversion has also been installed. Braking is handled by AMG 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers over drilled and slotted rotors. Active Body Control provides adjustable ride height and damping, while a RENNtech digital lowering module modifies the factory ride-height settings.
The cabin is upholstered in Exclusive Graphite/Anthracite AMG Leather (581) with Burl Walnut wood trim throughout the dashboard, center console, steering wheel, and door panels. Factory amenities include heated and ventilated dynamic front seats, power-adjustable rear seatbacks, four-zone automatic climate control, rear door sunshades, a power rear-window blind, Keyless-Go, Distronic, a garage-door opener, and a premium sound system. A Sony XAV-9000ES touchscreen multimedia receiver was professionally installed in July 2024 with steering-wheel-control integration and an amplifier bypass. The leather and other interior surfaces remain in good condition for the car’s age. Only a few minor scratches are visible in the wood trim surrounding the door-panel window switches.
The wood and leather-trimmed AMG steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A centrally mounted multifunction display provides additional vehicle and trip information. The digital odometer currently indicates approximately 76k miles.
Power comes from AMG’s hand-built 6.0-liter M275 Biturbo V12, factory rated at 604 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. With the RENNtech ECU tune, output is listed at 670 horsepower and 840 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. RENNtech correspondence supplied with the car also confirms an intercooler upgrade and digital suspension lowering module. A Supersprint exhaust is fitted, while the stock exhaust components and optional catless downpipes are included with the sale.
The accompanying service records document more than $30k in maintenance, repairs, and related parts during current ownership. Work performed in 2024 included replacement of the front control arms, ABC hydraulic line service, an engine oil service, and replacement of the serpentine belt, tensioner, and pulleys. Cooling-system work that year included replacement of radiator hoses, the thermostat, and thermostat housing and gasket. Later in 2024, the catless downpipes were removed and modified with flanges so the factory catalytic converters could be reinstalled.
Further ABC work followed in January 2025. A leaking hydraulic line was replaced, the system was flushed with fresh fluid, and the suspension was put through the Rodeo procedure. Both front hydraulic shocks were rebuilt by Rebuild Master Tech in March 2025 and were subsequently installed and calibrated by GT International. Later that year, the supplemental radiator was replaced. An engine oil and filter service and brake-fluid flush were also completed in November 2025.
At 76,234 miles in April 2026, GT International replaced the water pump and front crankshaft seal, then vacuum-filled and bled the cooling system. The most significant recent work followed in July 2026 at 76,329 miles. Ben’s Workshop diagnosed internal transmission failure and installed a remanufactured transmission assembly and torque converter. The service also included a new transmission mount, filter, pan gasket, and fluid, along with a flush of the transmission cooling system. With the transmission removed, the rear main crankshaft seal and housing were replaced as well. An engine oil service and road test completed the work.

The W220 S65 comes from a period when AMG’s answer to nearly every question seemed to involve more displacement and more torque. Starting with Mercedes’ flagship sedan, Affalterbach installed a hand-built 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 good for 604 horsepower and a frankly absurd 738 lb-ft of torque, then wrapped it all in an S-Class that could still pass for an executive sedan at a glance. That contrast remains the magic of the car. There is very little theater until you put your foot down, at which point two turbos and twelve cylinders make the S65 feel considerably less like a limousine. The W220 retains the restrained styling and old-school luxury of an earlier Mercedes, while the M275 brought the sort of outrageous turbocharged performance that would come to define AMG’s flagship models. This example turns the wick up further with RENNtech upgrades, including the ECU tune, intercooler upgrade, and lowering module, while the Supersprint exhaust gives the V12 a little more voice without changing the character of the car. With an S65 of this era, the service history matters just as much as the horsepower figure. The current owner has put more than $30k into documented maintenance, repairs, and associated parts, with attention focused on many of the areas enthusiasts know to look for. The ABC system has been extensively serviced, both front hydraulic struts have been rebuilt, major cooling-system components have been addressed, and the transmission and torque converter were replaced in 2026 at considerable expense. A twin-turbo V12 S-Class was never the sensible option, and that was never really the point. With 76k miles, RENNtech goodies, a deep stack of records, and some of the biggest jobs already tackled, this one makes a convincing case for choosing the twelve-cylinder answer.
