This 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL550 was sold new by Mercedes-Benz of Progress Point in Weldon Spring, Missouri and initially titled in Florida as a personal vehicle. The current owner acquired it in 2025 from the original owner’s daughter. As 1 of 550 examples produced to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the SL, this SL is finished in Pewter Silver Metallic (723) over Cognac Brown Leather (227). Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter M273 V8 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes exclusive twin-spoke wheels, power-retractable hardtop, heated and ventilated multi-contour seats, Keyless-Go, COMAND navigation, a Bose premium sound system, Bi-Xenon headlamps with Cornering Illumination, and Active Body Control. The odometer currently shows 17,049 miles, with notable documented services including replacement of the transmission control unit in 2023, extensive ABC and drivetrain work in 2025, and a B-Service completed in May 2026. This SL550 is now offered by the current owner in Eagle, Idaho with extensive service records, two keys, Anniversary Edition floor mats and fitted rear shelf luggage, a Mercedes-Benz battery tender, spare wheel and tools, a Carfax report, and a clean Idaho title.
The body is finished in Pewter Silver Metallic (723) and presents in very well-preserved condition for its age. The seller discloses a front-end collision in October 2021 after the car rear-ended a minivan. Repairs were performed by Pro-Tech Collision Center in Missouri, with documented invoices showing repair of the hood, front bumper cover, grille, right headlamp, and associated front-end components. The incident does not appear on the Carfax report. Current imperfections are limited to minor scratches along the underside of the front splitter near the center and driver side, with no other notable exterior blemishes reported.
The Anniversary Edition-specific 18” five-twin-spoke wheels are mounted with Continental ContiProContact tires measuring 255/40 up front and 285/35 in the rear, all with 2018 date codes. The wheels show no notable curb rash or finish damage. Factory braking equipment consists of four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers with cross-drilled front rotors. A May 2026 inspection measured approximately 5mm of front brake pad material and 7mm at the rear, and the brake fluid was flushed as part of the same B-Service. The Active Body Control suspension was recently serviced including repair of a leaking ABC hydraulic line, replacement of the hydraulic filter, and an ABC fluid flush.
The cabin is upholstered in Cognac Brown Leather (227) with contrasting Black Ash wood trim across the center console, dashboard, doors, and steering wheel. Amenities include heated and ventilated multi-contour front seats with memory, Keyless-Go, dual-zone automatic climate control, COMAND infotainment with navigation, a remote CD changer, and a Bose premium sound system. The original 50th Anniversary floor mats remain with the car, along with the matching rear shelf luggage with an Anniversary Edition luggage tag.
The wood and leather multifunction steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Twin digital displays provide additional vehicle and trip information, while the digital odometer currently indicates 17,049 miles.
Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter M273 V8 rated at 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque when new which sends power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. Documented work includes a transmission service and replacement of all eight spark plugs in 2019. A comprehensive service in 2022 included replacement of both batteries, resealing of the lower oil pan, a cooling-system flush, and another transmission service. In August 2023, the transmission control unit was replaced and programmed to the car along with a transmission fluid and filter service. Further work in April 2025 addressed a leaking ABC hydraulic line, which was repaired before the system received a new filter and fluid flush. The same visit included another transmission service and resealing of the lower engine oil pan. Most recently, a B-Service in May 2026 included an engine oil and filter change, brake and power steering fluid flushes, replacement cabin filters, and a full inspection. The underside is reported to remain clean and free of notable rust.
The Carfax report shows 29 service history records and three previous owners (the first two of whom were members of the same family), along with linear mileage updates and registration history in Florida, Missouri, and Idaho. Carfax reports no accidents or damage despite the seller-disclosed 2021 collision and accompanying repair records. Now showing 17k miles, this SL550 50th Anniversary Edition is offered with a clean Idaho title.

By the time the R230 arrived, the SL had already spent generations defining Mercedes’ idea of a luxury roadster. The R230 carried that formula into the modern era, and the 50th Anniversary Edition gave it just enough extra distinction without overdoing it. Only 550 were built, with Pewter Silver Metallic over Cognac Brown leather, exclusive wheels, Black Ash wood trim, and special-edition accessories. It’s a handsome, understated combination, and the matching luggage is exactly the kind of detail that makes one of these feel complete, especially if you're a collector looking for real value. The 382 horsepower M273 V8 has plenty of effortless pace, while Active Body Control gives the car the composed, almost unflappable feel these SLs are known for. Add the folding hardtop, heated and ventilated seats, and a cabin that still feels luxurious by modern standards, and it’s easy to see why the R230 makes such a good weekend car. With only 17k miles and extensive documented service, this example has the right mix of rarity, condition, and usability to stand out among later-model SLs.
