This 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL550 was sold new by Mercedes-Benz of Wappingers Falls and immediately titled in Georgia. The first owner serviced the car with Atlanta Classic Cars and traded it back to the dealer in 2014 with just over 11k miles on the odometer. The second and current owner bought the car Certified Pre-Owned from Atlanta Classic Cars and has added approximately 28k miles since purchase. The car is finished in Alabaster White (960) over Beige Leather (805) and is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Features include a fully automatic folding hardtop with a Panoramic Roof, the AMG Sport Package, BOSE sound, Bluetooth connectivity, and an OEM wind deflector. Under current ownership, this SL550 has been maintained by Atlanta Classic Cars and Blue Ridge MB. Various services include ABC service, a new trunk latch, and general preventative maintenance. The cabin is upholstered in Beige Leather (805) with original Beige floor mats and carpet throughout, along with a Mushroom upper dashboard. Walnut veneer adorns the center console, door cards, and steering wheel. Features include heated and ventilated multi-contour seats, Keyless-Go, a Panoramic Roof with retractable sun shade, and retractable luggage straps for the rear parcel shelf.
The original walnut and leather steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and two flanking gauges for coolant temperature, and fuel level. Additional features include a digital display for trip function, infotainment readout, and phone connectivity. The digital odometer currently reads 39,167 miles.
The 5.5-liter M273 V8 was rated for 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque when new and is mated to a seven-speed 722.9 automatic transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels and 0-60 mph takes less than 5.5 seconds. Recent maintenance includes a systems check of the retractable hardtop, an ABC service, a new trunk latch actuator, and complete fluid flush.

It doesn’t get much more iconic than a Mercedes-Benz SL with the top down. Through the ages we’ve watched the 300SL, the Pagoda, the R107, and R129, all steal the show in their own rights from silver screen stardom to pop culture flash. We like to think SL550’s like this example have identified a way to capture the SL’s legacy through unique styling cues, soft lines, and classic color combinations. While we expect most cars to have been maintenanced regularly throughout, this particular SL550 has done so at Blue Ridge MB just outside of Atlanta, GA.
