This 2011 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG example was sold new at Mercedes of Princeton in New Jersey at an original price of approximately $225,000. The car was special ordered in Designo Mystic Blue (032) over Designo Porcelain Leather (X27), and power comes from a 6.0L bi-turbo V12 paired with a five-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. Factory options include a panoramic sunroof, Keyless-Go, heated and ventilated seats in the front and rear, a heated steering wheel, Distronic-Plus, a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, and much more. Additional equipment includes a Kleemann ECU tune, aftermarket exhaust, PPF on quarter panels, ceramic window tint, a Euro-spec rear cooler, and Euro-spec rear tray tables. The car has been serviced with a brake fluid flush, oil change, suspension service, and full detail plus inspection within the last 12 months. This S65 was previously listed on The MB Market in April 2025 and is now offered with updated photos and an adjusted reserve. This Designo W221 AMG has just under 120k miles and comes with partial service records, 2 keys, a Carfax report, Monroney label, factory muffler, dyno sheet, and a clean Florida title.
The body is finished in Designo Mystic Blue (032) which was special ordered when new. Compared to the standard W221 S-Class, the S65 AMG featured a lowered ride height, revised front and rear bumpers, side skirt extensions, unique exterior badging, and a quad-exit exhaust system. This facelifted 2011 example benefits from LED daytime running lamps on the revised front fascia and LED taillights in the rear. The Carfax reports damage to the front in April 2012 and states the vehicle was functional and airbags did not deploy. As a result, the front bumper was replaced and some paint work performed to the front quarter panel. The The seller notes chips on the front end and some light scratches around the exterior consistent with mileage. Clear paint protection film (PPF) has been applied to the quarter panels and kick plates along with 3M ceramic window tint.
Factory 20" AMG wheels are fitted with 255/35 Michelin Pilot Sport tires up front and 275/35 Vredestein Hypertrac tires at the rear. Date codes read 2020 in the front and 2024 in the rear. The AMG braking system utilizes uprated, AMG-branded, silver multi-piston brake calipers and cross-drilled discs measuring 15.4″ up front and 14.4″ in the rear. A brake fluid flush was recently performed. The AMG-modified Active Body Control (ABC) suspension was serviced in December 2024 and allowed for selectable ride height depending on the driving mode as well as Sport and Comfort settings. A brake fluid flush and tire rotation were completed within the last 7 months.
The cabin is trimmed in S65 AMG-exclusive, quilted leather in Designo Porcelain (X27) with matching doorcards which were special ordered when new. Designo black piano interior trim accents the steering wheel, dashboard, door panels and center console. The leather-wrapped upper dash is finished in black and continues onto the doors and back of the seats. Notable features include heated and ventilated seats in the front and rear, COMAND w/navigation, the Bang & Olufsen Premier Sound System, an in-dash CD/DVD changer, factory Bluetooth telephone, Distronic PLUS radar cruise control, NightView assist, bi-xenon headlights with active curvelight illumination, two rear entertainment screens w/DVD changer, heated steering wheel, active dynamic front seats, panoramic glass sliding roof, rear electric roller blind, electric window blinds for the rear windows, rear-view camera, blind spot assist, Keyless-Go, and more. The rear seating area feature Euro-spec folding tray tables and a cooler box. A set of WeatherTech all-weather rubber are included with the sale.
The hand-stitched, leather-wrapped dashboard houses a central infotainment screen that can be electronically tilted to either the driver or passenger and an IWC Schaffhausen-branded analog clock with the AMG signature molded within the bezel. The steering wheel is equipped with rear-mounted shift paddles and frames a 220-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates approximately 119,840 miles.
The twin-turbocharged and intercooled 6.0-liter V12 was factory-rated at 604 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 738 lb-ft of torque between 2,000-4,000 rpm. A Kleemann ECU tune increases total power to 616hp and 779 lb-ft of torque at the wheel according to the provided dyno sheet. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed AMG Speedshift transmission which can be controlled manually via paddles behind the steering wheel. The engine is covered in an AMG-exclusive carbon fiber airbox showing the signature of the single-engine maker emblazoned on a plaque at the center of the airbox. The car has received a brake fluid flush, oil change, suspension service, and full detail plus inspection within the last 12 months. The car currently has a muffler delete and the OEM mufflers are included in the sale. Additional servicing is noted on the Carfax report.
The Carfax report lists linear mileage updates, the aforementioned damage report in 2012, and 38 service history records. The Monroney Window Sticker shows a total MSRP over $225k including options when new. Now with just under 120k miles, this 2011 S65 is offered with partial service records, 2 keys, a Carfax report, Monroney label, factory muffler, dyno sheet, and a clean Florida title.

@w463pur appreciate it! Sounds good, will do!
@Drkkrkn Congrats! I am one of the previous owners of this S65 and still have quite a few parts for it, feel free to reach out 'strictly.mbz' at gmail.
@thembmarket appreciate you guys!
Congratulations to the winning bidder who won the car post auction for $28,000.
I would say with the miles that this is very close to market value. Stunning spec nonetheless.
Appears reserve not met?
Got distracted and missed another bid. Wonder where the ask is as I’m definitely still interested.
SOLD? Maybe?
I have NEVER seen another S65 in this color.

@TheLavski the Bang and Olufsen is a leap above the Harman Kardon unit my E63 has. I do not have any rattles. The speakers were tested in 2020 by Mercedes to which they found a tweeter not having output. It was replaced with records to show that as well.

@aklalani I received the car with the Michelin's when the rears came to be needing replaced I went with Vredistein's highway tire. I didn't need an ultra high performance tire on a car I am cruising down the highway, I wanted something quite and smooth.
With the offset tires, why are the rear tires a different brand than the Michelins in the front?

@AHMAD99O All of the massage function works on every chair ,including the side bolsters, the heating and cooling work on all as well. On a test drive yesterday someone noticed the driver mirror motor is intermittent. It wasn't working at all. Today it moves. I suspect the motor is going out within the mirror housing. All the TV screens work, this car has been optioned with split view, so the front passenger can watch a movie as well as the two in the rear. There are no error codes on the gauge cluster or that show up with a OBD2 scanner as pictured.
Do all the electronics work on the car and if not what exactly doesn't work and how did it stop working? As a W221 s500 owner these things do have a lot of electronics just stop working out of nowhere especially the massage function And thanks for the reply
@AHMAD99O The reason is money - there's not enough of it to go around! I have a small collection in which I check fluids and meticulously inspect and have found on my 2010 E63, it is consuming larger amounts of radiator fluid. On those motors the head bolts crack and the heads have to come off. I have gotten a few different numbers but looks to be the total job cost can range from anywhere from 6 to 12 Grand depending on how many "while you're in there" parts you want to add. I had a job where I would have to drive to Tallahassee and used this car with its automatic cruise and Lane keep assist was fantastic but now that I have a job that just involves me going into my own City, I drive my E63 and other cars more often. I will need to sell the s65 for repairs to E63 and most likely use the rest to buy a home.
Hey so I have a question How can you sell such a piece of art if it doesn't have any issues or anything what is the reason?
$15,750 bid placed by @Rigazzi
@Rafaziz717 indeed it's been serviced multiple times, the most recent one being at 108,000 miles.
Has the transmission been serviced? Just had to replace my CL65's at 101k since the oil and filter were original :( thanks!
@MercedesDad you're welcome! Basically right, I don't have the Bluetooth headphones to test that but normal headphones work as each screen has their own ports for a wired connection.
Thank you for the lightning fast response @mercedesschool ! So you have been able to test the rear infotainment screens power on, but not the sound due to lack of headphones. Correct? Or can you play it through the car speakers?
@MercedesDad there are no headphones. The rear entertainment screens both work and comes with 2 TV remotes that control all 3 screens. Indeed there are the original designo floor mats in rear.
I apologize in advance if I missed the following on the listing: - Are the MB headphones still on the car? - Have you been able to confirm the rear entertainment system works? - Does the car retain the AMG, Designo floor mats? Thank you!
Additional photos have been added to the gallery.
@dbryan75 No problem! Funny how close we are to each other. Let me know if you want anymore pictures.
Thanks Evin for showing me the car today. Very Nice Car, the test drive was the best. That V12 power! I owned a 911, but you have me wanting the v12.

@elstar I did not do most of the work on this car. I looked at the Carfax and didn’t see a recent change of brake fluid so I put it on the schedule to be changed. I am curious as to why it doesn’t show the information on the Carfax on the guest view, I will post what I see on the owner’s page that shows the more recent work, what milage and who did it. I will also talk to MB Market on getting a screenshot up. Unfortunately, I am unable to attach pictures to comments. I have not topped up any of the fluids as nothing has needed replenishing. I do check the fluid levels often, this is how I caught the (probable) head bolt break in my E63 before it becomes major. Owner 4 brought the fridge back from an excursion in Europe. An option not available in the states but was there, it is fully functional. He also got a Kleeman tune of which I was weary of as he didn’t have any real data to show me other than a purchase screenshot. Something that was laid to rest after the car put down over 900-foot pounds of torque on the Dyno sheet. I reached out to the better known Eurocharged company to which they said they wouldn’t be able to touch those numbers with their tune. The exhaust I did, I had a muffler shop take off the bumper mufflers, which are included in the sale if the buyer wants to have them put back on. On a cold start it’s almost as loud as my old 14’ F type R, but that only lasts for about 50 seconds before the revs kick down to under 1k RPM. It won’t wake the neighbors but people in the parking lot will know you just fired up a V12. The headlights and taillights are OEM. No information on clear side markers. Both 4th and 5th owner were in WA, apart of the same car club. Owner 5 title was in his name. Picture of the armrest stowed will also be sent to MB Market as I cannot post them in comments. @Mercedesschool Thanks very much. It seems like you are pretty handy around cars in general, did you do most of the work on this car yourself? Can you advise the reason for the recent brake fluid change, and specify what fluid and bleeding method was used? Does the car consume or leak any coolant, oil, or other fluids? Do these need any sort of small periodic top-ups of any kind, even tiny ones once or twice a year? Was it Owner 4, 5 or 6 that performed the upgrades to the seat backs, fridge, ECU tune, and exhaust? Can you elaborate on exactly what was done to the exhaust system, starting from the headers back? Are the headlights and taillights OEM? Was it Owner 4, 5, or 6 that added the clear side markers? Did you receive it from Owner #5 with a WA title, FL title or a title from another state? Was the title in Owner #5's name? Also, can you take a photo with the rear armrest stowed away? Thanks for the effort, and good luck with the auction.

@elstar The Carfax shows me as owner 6, I spoke to owner 4 and bought it from owner 5. That's why it shows owner 5 had it for less than a month
@Mercedesschool Thank you for the detailed description. I was reviewing the Carfax, and had trouble matching up these details. Can you clarify which owner(s) you had an interaction with?
@elstar I purchased a 2011 s550 base model. Drove it for a few months before realizing I liked the platform so much I wanted the top dog, but wanted it in the rarest color combo. There are a few white interiors in the country but only one dealer verfied designo mystic Blue. I hired a PI to find the owner and cold called him. Unfortunately he had just sold it the week prior. Negotiations then went on with the new buyer who wanted to make a profit and I wanted the car so we made a deal. I've driven it and definitely put some miles on it and down the maintenance required and even ceramic coated the interior leather because I had fear of jeans on white leather. Thankfully that's not a problem. However now I have the dreadful head bolt crack as I'm having to fill up radiator fluid on a 2010 E63 all too often, as it's just under 100k miles I plan to also change the camshafts as they are a wearable component along with the 'while you're on there' pieces. This head bolt project, along with trying to get money down for a new house is the reason for the sale. It's the one toy I have that will bring in the most money so unfortunately this one has to go.
Can you offer any info on how you came to own this car? Why you are selling it now? Thanks
@Aa87 the coils were replaced at 94k and plugs at 99k at a Mercedes Benz dealer in Washington.
Sorry if I missed it somehow but when was the last engine service including the plugs and coil packs?
@Capt747 I just completed a $5,228.00 spark plugs + coil packs job on mine TODAY. Reputable independent Mercedes-only specialist with new OEM spark plugs and ignition coils on both banks. Currently on my 6th S600/65 and they all needed this every two years or 35K miles, approximately. I have tried the remanufactured ones from California as well. Great customer service and they are cheaper but they also fail, eventually, and their warranty is only 1-year, vs 2-year when buying from Mercedes.... it comes down to a game of numbers :) Either way, the difference in performance is immediate—smooth, powerful, and exactly how a proper V12 should feel. Amazing cars when dialed in; FAR superior than anything else AMG has to offer today, in my humble opinion. Just be ready to pay for supercar performance. (That's when the reputable independent shop comes in ha ha!)
@gscharnagl my 2012 has 125k going strong. The facelifts are more reliable This thing will need plugs maybe coils soon. Love the color.

@Mbb79184 I was in disbelief I would lose my ass this bad as I had bought it admittedly over priced, but after discussions with the rep from MB Market, they have agreed to relist it with a lower reserve.
Why did the most recent sale not go through?

absolutely stunning color combination on this beautiful beast! mileage is the only thing holding this baby back, but it just means that this has been driven and enjoyed as it should have been.
