Hi everyone, we are down to the last 24 hours of this auction. This is a great driver-quality R129 with lots of service records. I forgot to mention in my list below that the engine mounts were replaced in June of this year. Happy to answer any further questions!
@Motts71 Hello, the soft top cylinders have not been replaced during my ownership in the last 3 years. I have service records going back to 2012 and there are no records for soft top cylinders. The soft top functions as it should (See video).
Hi everyone, Thanks for viewing my auction listing. This is my '98 SL500 Sport, which I have owned for 3 years. I purchased the car in Los Gatos, CA in October 2020. I was living in the Bay Area at the time, and this SL was sold new in San Francisco. The car has service records dating back to 2012. During my ownership I have maintained the car to a high standard. Recent service includes: -Oil change (Oct 2023) -Rear control arm bushings (Oct 2023) -New OEM Windshield (Oct 2023) -Replacement of cam oiler tubes with aluminum tubes (Plastic tubes were used in the M119 and they break, resulting in a ticking sound at idle - common issue). (2021) -Replacement of front strut mounts (2021) -Valve Cover gaskets replaced - engine is very dry underneath (see underside photos) (Left side - 2023, both in 2021) -New Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires fitted, lots of tread left. (2020) -New headliner installed in hard top (2022) -New hood pad fitted (2021) The soft top operates flawlessly (See video). A/C blows cold. Happy to answer addition questions!
The SL1 AMG Styling page transforms the R129 into a really attractive car, a future classic. This one with low miles and a rare color looks great. GLWA!
