@8isenough: Allen appears to be having tech issues at his house. When we shot the pictures, he told us the brakes were original and deemed to be around 50% at the last dealer servicing, which was about 30 days ago. The only change is he had the calipers painted blue. Hopefully he can work out his tech problems and get in here to comment soon.
@8isenough @Stuttgart_Steel : I have been around this car the entire time the seller has had it. I have never seen any damage on the car. If it had been hit, he would have said something to me about it. As an aside, I have owned a 1987 model car since new. The CarFax is totally wrong because in 1991 a careless Emissions Testing guy in Atlanta keyed in the odometer reading as 611,537 rather than the correct 61,153.7. I've never been able to get it corrected, even with receipts before and after, and even when I point out it would have required me to drive over half a million miles in one year for it to be right. CarFax, while helpful, should never be considered as the gospel.
I have known the seller of this car for over 40 years. His father sold Mercedes-Benz vehicles new in the '70s and was very active in the local Mercedes club. The seller has continued that tradition, selling high-line, pre-owned luxury cars, primarily Mercedes, BMW and Porsche for as long as I have known him. He is also active in the clubs, having served as President of both the M-B and Porsche clubs at one time or another. I tell you all this to say he is VERY particular about his own personal car and knows how to find, sort and maintain the highest quality examples. This E43 looks, rides and drives like a brand new vehicle. You would have to look for a very long time to find another one anywhere near as nice as this one. When you add in the custom Renntech and other bits, it is pretty much a 1 of 1 car.
