@Armsdaleyou dodged a bullet IMO. Headbolt failures are minuscule. Not worth the premium to have them done. Plus no one knows how or who will be doing them to satisfy the highest bidder. Updated Navi is a moot point. Every navigation from a decade ago sucks, let’s just be honest. Scuffs, scrapes, falling headliner, curbed rim, and the discrepancy on the accident between Carfax and autocheck coupled with the paint meter readings...this sold for way too much IMO. Great car though regardless but it’s a drivers car. You buy this, you drive it and put miles on it and enjoy it. Expect to break even or lose a little when you sell it. Be glad you didn’t win this.
@E61MSportWagonthank you for the kind comments. I’ll save your info now. This was really a spur of the moment purchase for me as I wasn’t really in the market for another addition to the garage. Glad to see there is so much love for these wagons. I’ll reach out for sure should I decide to sell it. Lots of amazing rare examples of cars coming out of private collections now with the price and buying frenzy going on. Best of luck to you in your search for your next addition!
@E61MSportWagonjust had it delivered to me about a week ago. It smells new and drives like a dream. I can’t complain. I’ve got many cars so most of them see about 200-500 miles per year. I’ve been driving this one since delivery and I can say that it’s an amazing example of a well driven and maintained car. A Silver Mercedes has always been my soft spot and the color combo is perfect. (Same as my e350 from same year) It will be a garage queen for the most part but it in all honesty, my bid was the highest I was going. One more and I was out. I really wasn’t about to go over 46k but being local made me go a bit more than my limit just because I’ve bought so many cars and having them shipped always adds about $1500-2000 to have it shipped correctly. So being local did make this an attractive purchase. I really loved the bids and enthusiasm around this car as it’s really special. Not sure why most Americans hate wagons but I think they are just so unique, functional and amazing as far as rarity. I’ll keep your info though. I’ll reach out privately if I decide to sell. I always want these types of cars to go to a good home where they will be appreciated. And my cars are always maintained to the highest standards. Every single one has a dedicated binder with all records from my ownership because I’m OCD like that and I truly believe in provenance when it comes to cars no matter what they are. Having the history in actual records beats any Carfax. I literally change the oil on my gated r8 every year and I think I do about 70-80 miles per year if that tells you anything. Lol It makes me so happy that someone else like you really appreciates this vehicle as much as I did when I was bidding and like I said before I’ll make sure to reach out should I ever decide to let her go....
@E61MSportWagonstaying local in Atlanta, GA. So it will be a southern garage queen until I’m ready to sell it but I have a bad habit of not selling my cars. But it will have a brother/sister in the garage...contemplating listing the e350 though I’m not sure yet. Need to sleep on it =) https://ibb.co/vsdZdqq
@E61MSportWagongreat back and forth there at the end. Was definitely exhilarating just as this car will be! Thanks for the well wishes!
