This 2006 Mercedes-Benz S350 was sold new at Mercedes-Benz of Sarasota in Florida in 2006 and remained registered in Florida under the original owner until 2023 when the selling dealer out of Darien, Wisconsin acquired the car for the first time. It was sold and registered in Wisconsin and is now offered for a second time by the selling dealer. It benefits from regular services at specialty shops throughout its long-term first ownership and now shows just under 63k miles. Finished in Flint Gray Metallic (368) over Anthracite Leather (271), power comes from a 3.7-liter M112 V6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Features include factory COMAND, memory driver front seats, Power Closing System (soft close doors), heated front seats, autodimming mirrors, and CD changer with BOSE audio. The included Carfax report shows 16 service history records and the following services were completed in preparation for the sale: valve cover gaskets, vacuum pump, heater valve, front door lock actuators, TPMS sensors, new tires, engine mounts, and front Arnott Air Struts. This W220 is offered with factory literature, an original tool kit, a clean Carfax, and a clean Wisconsin title.
Finished in Flint Gray Metallic (368), the paint and finish present very well with no major blemishes visible on the body and no rust noted by the seller. Additional equipment includes a glass sunroof with tilt function, Power Closing System (soft close doors), and auto-dimming side-view mirrors with integrated signal lighting. The soft-close system recently received a new vacuum pump to ensure proper working order along with new front door lock actuators. There is some touch-up paint on the left side of the front bummer and a small nick on the right front door.
Original 17” five-star design wheels are wrapped in new Pirelli P7 AS tires measuring 225/55 at all four corners. The tires were replaced under the current ownership and show 2023 date codes. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. A full-size spare is shown in the trunk with a tool kit and jack. TPMS sensors were replaced when the tires were installed. Two new Arnott air shocks were installed on the front of the car as well. These short wheelbase W220s retain Airmatic suspension.
The cabin is trimmed in Anthracite Leather (271) accented by the original eucalyptus veneer on the center console, doors, and dashboard. The original Mercedes-Benz velour floor mats are photographed front/rear and will accompany the car. Features include power front seats w/memory, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, and BOSE sound. The car remains original and still retains the factory COMAND with navigation. The COMAND head unit does show some LCD yellowing but still functions.
Instrumentation is framed by a four spoke leather wrapped sheeting wheel and gauges includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and a digital odometer with trip function. The digital odometer shows just under 63k original miles. Additional gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature, and a digital clock. The leather steering wheel does show some sun damage with, but the integrated buttons show in excellent condition free from wear and are without the common "sticky buttons".
The 3.7-liter M112 V6 was rated at 242 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a 722.6 automatic five-speed transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. The included Carfax report shows 16 service history records and the following services were completed in preparation for the sale: engine mounts, heater valve, and valve cover gaskets.
The story goes Mercedes-Benz had an excess of short wheelbase W220s left over as they neared the end of production and also had an excess of the 3.7-liter M112.972s on the shelf that needed to be sold to make room for the new M272. In the U.S., we only saw this big M112 in the later model W163s. Mercedes-Benz decided to combine the E37 engines also with the W220 short wheelbases and sell them to the U.S. market as an approachably priced S-Class paired with the older, tough as nails 722.6 instead of the new 722.9. We like to argue this is our Euro-spec W220 that we got in the states during the last year of production before selling the W221. These are really cool cars. The 3.7-liter M112 is a bored out 3.2-liter with different pistons making a good boost in power (10 to 19+ horsepower and 26+ foot pounds of torque) over the regular E32 engine we got here. Still retaining the Airmatic suspension and soft close functions, the car was through and through a S-Class. This is a wonderful example in a fantastic color combination sporting low miles. With the new tires, valve cover gaskets, and front air struts, this will drive quietly and smoothly while also having the agility of an E-Class due to its smaller footprint. Plus we’re a sucker for eucalyptus wood in a W220.

$333 bid placed by @SellCLE
This S looks to be begging to be driven across the country on an epic couple of day road trip. Any reason you'd suggest not making that drive right away upon pickup @GenevaMotorCars ? Looks well sorted, new tires, air suspension, gaskets, etc. Seems ready. Any shots of undercarriage to follow? Looks like she was a FL car so curious to know if any parts have anything more than 'surface rust' under there ... nice car.
