Congratulations @peoriabenz looking forward to meeting you for collection!
@Donkster I had Ben at MB market upload more photos along with a video shot this morning showing the Ceramic Pro performance on the car including the hood. Please note that I took the exterior shots in the harshest midday lighting possible to show how deep and swirl free the paint is. Most auctions feature pictures in soft evening lighting to hide paint defects and dulness of uncorrected or neglected paint.
For bidders that have been unable to see the car in person feel free to reach out to me for any additional requests for pictures videos or questions to ensure you are comfortable bidding as I aim for a realistic representation of the car . First please watch the tour and drive youtube video posted above as it will likely answer most of your questions. Some questions that have arose: The orignal headgasket material that was problematic on the m104 is noted as replaced at Mercedes Benz on the carfax history linked above. The car will be given a detail and stored in a private garage after auction end until collection Happy to pick up the winning bidder at the airport or train station All the plastic seat surrounds are uncracked The car doesn't drip any fluids and is very dry underneath (southern california car) I'll upload some additional pictures of the underside. What would I do if i kept it? New antenna retractor, rebuild the radio for linear volume adjustment, order grab handle for the top as shown in the walkaround video (these pieces are available), polish the chrome exhaust tip and interior of the wheels, put a stiffer backing on the original drivers floor mat so it doesn't move underfoot. Ac blows cold and automatic Hvac works as intended Why am I selling? Too many cars for how often I drive. Two garage spots and 5 classic cars and I cant bring myself to leave it outside. I bought the car because I always wanted one and the right opportunity found me in the right color. Unsure if vanity mirror lights are working I'll have to check and update here. Any other questions please message me. Reluctantly looking forward to passing this fine cab off to a new steward.
@naveedmoeinthank you for the kind words, I generally reserve words like immaculate for a councours car but it certainly presents well as a driver.
@jimmieduffyas a longtime classic bmw guy this was my first Mercedes. I have always wanted a 124 cabriolet in black over tan, it took me years to find the right one. I agree it is an absolutely sublime car to drive and I'll miss it dearly. I had my hydraulics replaced with "Top Hydraulics" remanufactured parts which came with a 1 year warranty, as you can see from the receipts in the bottom of the photo album it was quite spendy with parts and labor at nearly $3500 but the top operates perfectly, whereas my bmw e30 cabriolets never worked right even when new. I advise you find an upholstery shop well versed in Mercedes top hydraulics and have them handle ordering and returning the cores with a pre-existing relationship with "Top Hydraulics".
@Coachmuleuse the "message seller" function and we can arrange a showing. Also check out the video tour I posted, It will give you a pretty solid understanding of the car as a nicely sorted and unmolested cabriolet ready to be enjoyed.
