Any information on how you came to own the car, or the prior history? I don't live locally so just trying to gather as much info as possible before bidding. Any funny smells inside? Is the car watertight? Does it drive straight? Does everything work, including the A/C (it appears to have A/C, see comments below)? Also would like to see photos of the seats without the covers (especially the driver's outer bolsters), and the trunk floor below the spare tire if possible. Thanks!
Lots to like here in terms of configuration and the fact that it appears to be titled in California. I'd be curious to know if the paint is original - if it is, that's a huge plus. I do see a couple of spots where the paint is bubbling (corner of rear window and driver's drip rail near A-pillar), and it appears the driver's fender may have been replaced. The car appears to have A/C as evidenced by the thumbwheel on the dash and the condenser in front of the radiator. Whether it works is a different matter of course, but that's not a difficult repair. Strangely, the A/C option does not show up when you decode the VIN, I'm guessing it was retrofitted. It's the manual A/C system, which is another advantage over the US cars with their finicky automatic system. Air conditioning is rare on Euro W123s, so the fact that this one has that, plus manual windows and sunroof, plus the 3.0-liter diesel engine, makes it a very desirable spec. The rear seat headrests are also rare. This is a rare Euro W123 in a very desirable spec, but it does need some attention. Hopefully someone buys this and gives it the TLC it needs.
