@Dragon_LadyI did not as I chose to drive the car with in 2wd with the 4matic turned off. I never drive the car in inclement weather so it was not an issue for me.
@Dragon_LadyThe car has only a driver's airbag which was standard in 1991. The passenger airbag was optional equipment.
@cdwatnsu There is an internal leak in the transfer case whereby the self leveling suspension fluid (the line for which passes through the transfer case) is leaking into the chamber for the transfer case fluid. The result is that the transfer case needs to be drained at every oil change to drain the excess fluid. I have driven the vehicle in 2wd mode with the 4matic turned off for a few years with no issue. This has allowed me not to need to drain the transfer case. I have not replaced the transfer case with a rebuilt transfer case as I never drive the car in the winter or in inclement weather.
