The car was listed under consignment, meaning they were selling it on behalf of the actual owner, who is a German dealer. Given the circumstances, we strongly suspect that their Thembmarket account may have been compromised. There’s a real possibility that someone gained unauthorized access to their account and attempted to alter the listing details or manipulate the transaction in some way. This might explain the unusual changes and confusion surrounding the sale. I guess this was a phishing attack, or a full account breach.
