This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 shows first digitally recorded registration in Colorado in 1994 where it remains through 2025. It shows a clean history, regular emissions tests every year, and an original 90k miles. Finished in Diamond Blue Metallic (355) over Gray MB-Tex (178), power is provided by a 2.3-liter, 8-valve inline-four mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes a power sliding sunroof, manual front seats, power windows, a power rear view mirror, air conditioning, cruise control, and an aftermarket head unit. The included Carfax report shows some service throughout and recent services include a new A/C compressor and A/C service, new brake pads and rotors for all four wheels, an oil change, and a new speed sensor. Additionally, new tires were installed in 2025. This 190E is now offered for sale by the selling dealer with factory literature, 1 key, the original tool kit and spare tire, and a clean Colorado title.
The body is finished in Diamond Blue Metallic (355) and features contrasting gray lower body cladding and black impact strips. Exterior features include a power sliding sunroof, an automatic antenna, heated power-adjustable door mirrors, a heated rear window, heated windshield washers and central locking. No rust is present on the car and small dings and imperfections are noted per the seller and detailed photos can be seen in the gallery.
The factory 15” Gullideckel wheels have been fitted with new Cooper tires measuring 185/65 at all four corners. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted discs with ABS. In the trunk a full-size spare is included along with the original tool kit.
The cabin is trimmed in Gray MB-Tex (178) with matching carpets and door cards while Zebrano wood trim lines the center console. Both front seats offer manual adjustability and the veneer shows some cracks. Interior appointments include power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, a locking glove compartment, a folding center armrest, and an aftermarket head unit. The seller notes the sunroof to be inoperable.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, a digital outside temperature sensor and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer currently shows 90k miles from new.
This W201 is powered by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine which is rated for 130 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Underbody photos have been provided by the seller and are viewable in the photo gallery.
The Carfax report shows history since 1994 for this 190E along with linear mileage updates. This 190E is now offered for sale by the selling dealer with factory literature, 1 key, the original tool kit and spare tire, and a clean Colorado title.

@ClassicAutoSMTH thank you for the comment! Good to see you too!
FWIW I've worked with this dealer before. They keep interesting MB's around and know their stuff well. @gt3drake good to see you on this side of the screen!
Oops, sorry. Just saw your response. For some reason the page didn't refresh for me at first. Thanks!
Can I get a response to my questions?
1 hour left! We put in over $2500 into this beautiful 190e to make sure it’s a safe and fun driver for the next owner!
Additional underside photos have been added to the gallery to illustrate condition along with two additional photos of the referenced stabilizer shock.
@PricklyPearAutoClub we just put the car in the air and verified it’s not leaking from the valve covers. It’s a blown steering stabilizer shock. We are getting photos uploaded now showing this. We had the AC compressor replaced and the whole system serviced. It blows ice cold now.
$3,500 bid placed by @JBarnes
Can you see oil leaking from the valve cover? Any way to trace more closely where it's coming from? Also, I know it says it has had a recent AC service, but does the AC function properly? I know often times the control units themselves, especially the temperature select wheel, can go bad and cause all sorts of wonkiness in the system.
Photos of the emissions plates have been uploaded to the gallery.
@vido yes, it is 50 state emissions legal. I will upload a couple pictures
@GT3drake appreciate it. One more question please – this is 50 states emissions certified?
@vido we are not sure. It’s toward the front so possibly the valve cover. This car is not perfect but it’s a great drivers car and is super clean for being 40 years old.
$3,250 bid placed by @S123dad
@GT3drake thanks! do you know where the leak is coming from? a valve cover? rear main seal?
@vido after parking it for a week we noticed a couple small drips drips under the car the size of a quarter. All seals around doors, hood, trunk look good..
Just over two hours left—don’t miss the chance to own a well-preserved 190E! We are here to answer any last minute questions. Thanks!
anything leaking on the car? any of the seals (door, hood, truck, etc.) needing replacement? thank you
@BabyBenzFan Thank you for the kind words! We agree, it’s getting harder and harder to find these low mileage W201’s. Hoping we get some good action toward the end of the auction! Spread the word!
@rsmith86 The door panels are the same color as the seats:. They are grey/blueish whereas the plastic on the bottom of the front and passenger doors is more grey. Same with the bottom of the door jam is also grey. We can store the car for you for a few weeks.
No offense to the bidders but the bids for this car are offensively low. The odds of finding another W201 as clean as this one with less than 100,000 miles are rare and getting rarer by the day.
Also is there anyway for you to store in for a few weeks?
Are the door panels blue or grey?
$3,000 bid placed by @Janton
Thanks for stopping by! This 190E just got brand-new tires, brakes, and A/C compressor—all done in 2025. Runs like a dream and ready for its next chapter. Any questions, I’m happy to answer!
$2,500 bid placed by @RalphSmith
@Stuttgart_Steel Thanks for the praise on this car! We agree, this is a super clean example and we are excited for the next owner to enjoy it!
I also have a 2.3 that I bomb around inner Atlanta in. The suspension on these is amazing, they are smaller than a Ford Fiesta, and the M102 is a like a sewing machine. I LOVE the color too. They offer such a unique driving experience. It feels like a 3/4s scale S-Class and the engineering is so exciting for the price point. Clean W201s are getting hard to find. This looks like a well care for example. The underside, engine bay, and door panels are in freakishly good condition. I hope someone buys this. I'm always pushing people towards 201s and they always get hooked on them when they actually buy them.

@kw_sheffield Thanks for the comment. We will get a cold start, interior driving, and exterior driving videos uploaded.
@OlyOop My apologies, there is a small scratch to the paint where you noticed it. I will upload a detailed shot of that.
$1,500 bid placed by @ProdigalPetrolHead
Is it possible to share videos of the car running, driving, etc?
A focused photo of the pinstripe has been added to the gallery.
@BabyBenzFan thanks for the comment. We agree, this is a super clean example and will look great in any collection!
@OlyOop thanks for the message. I do see the pin striping has started to come off a little bit but there is no damage to the blue paint. I will upload a close up picture too.
Hello, Is there paint damage to the passenger-side front quarter, behind the amber marker light, as seems to be shown in photo 7?
Finding a W201 that's as nice as this one and with less than 100,000 miles on it is rare and getting rarer by the day. This car will be a very nice addition to someone's garage. I would bid on this W201 if I didn't have the W201 that I already have. I wish the seller GLWTA.
