The exterior wears fresh French Racing Blue paint with contrasting satin black painted bumpers and a satin lower engine protector plate. Fresh rubberized impact strips trace the beltline of the car with new dark amber blinkers perched atop the front quarter panels. A swing gate with a spare tire can be seen on the rear hatch. Mud flaps are installed for the rear axle which the car was originally optioned with. The exterior restoration and paintwork were done no less than 100 kilometers ago. A skeleton frame for the new black fabric soft top has also been touched up to match the rest of the new cosmetics.
16” Astral Silver repainted steel wheels are fitted along with new lug bolts and satin black Mercedes-Benz center caps. Rockproof Nokien Tyres tires measuring 225/75 are mounted on all four corners showing 2018 date codes. A full-size spare is mounted to the rear door with a matching tire. New springs and struts were installed during the restoration along with new suspension bushings throughout. New brake booster, reservoir, and master cylinder were installed.
The cabin was reupholstered in Gray/Black checkered cloth which lines the seats and door panels. Fitted rubber floor mats are seen on both front and rear passenger compartments with satin hardwood slats cut for the rear luggage compartment. All four seats are fitted with seatbelts with lap belts in the rear. Interior features include climate control for heat and fresh air with a front windshield defroster, lockable front and rear axles, manual windup windows, updated Pioneer head unit, USB charging ports, and a lockable glove compartment. Mounted on the center console is a manual hand brake, controls for the four-wheel drive system, the gearshift for the 4-speed manual transmission, and two cup holders.
The four-spoke vinyl steering wheel frames a 180-kmh speedometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Lights for the differential lockers can be found mounted in the center. The five-digit odometer currently reads 63,776 km (~39k miles) with just 100 kilometers added by the current owner since the restoration.

The seller has included the following videos:
There’s something about freshly blasted aluminum and re-plated engine bays that make us happy. We just hope these restoration photos stir the same emotions as us! They only made so many of these cars and a lot of them were used as utility vehicles and put away wet. So many of them have rusted away – we need to put the time and money into these classics to keep them on the road. It's important that people who love Gelandewagons put in the effort to keep them on the road, be it mechanical maintenance or a frame off restoration like this one. These are early Land Rovers for people who don’t want headaches and want to look like Austrian farmers from the Cold War. Except this one is painted in an electric blue that would make an insane Miami beach cruiser. The cloth seats keep your shirt from sticking to you back in the summer heat and the simplicity of the wind up windows and downright invincible OM616 under the hood (look at the pictures of this unit – it’s gorgeous) make this a compelling buy that will be as reliable as a wood burning stove.
