This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 420SEC was originally sold new in Great Britain and imported by the seller to the U.S. in 2021. Now located in Brooklyn, NY, the car is finished in Arctic White (147) over Brazil Velour (973) and powered by a 4.2-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ Gullideckel wheels, a sunroof, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, burl wood trim, and a factory limited-slip differential. A new fan clutch and battery were recently installed in January. This 420SEC is a right-hand drive example showing just under 69k miles and is now offered by the seller with partial service records, importation documents in the seller’s name, and a United Kingdom vehicle registration document.

The car is finished in Arctic White (147) with light gray lower body panels and bumper covers. Equipment includes front fog lights, headlight wipers, an electric sunroof, and chrome trim around the windows and bumpers. The car still retains factory Euro spec lighting and bumpers. The seller notes some rust around the rear wheel arches, around the sunroof, beneath the front lights, and on the chrome of the bumpers with up close photos in the gallery. The seller states the sunroof tilt function is inoperable but still slides.

Silver-finished 15” Gullideckel wheels wear 205/65 Kumho Solus KH17 tires, and the finish on the wheels shows some flaking and dullness. Braking is from anti-lock discs at all four corners.

The cabin features seating surfaces trimmed in Brazil Velour (973) with matching door panels and carpets. Burl wood trim accents the doors, dash, and center console. Amenities include dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and electrically adjustable side mirrors. The car is configured with right-hand drive from the factory as it was originally sold in Great Britain.

A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just under 69k miles, approximately 2k of which were added during current ownership.

The 4.2-liter M116 V8 was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with a factory limited-slip differential. A new battery and fan clutch were recently installed in January.

We can certainly see why Bruno Sacco recalled the C126 as the car with the most beautiful front end he had ever designed…especially the Euro specs. The slim Euro bumpers and full glass headlight lenses make a welcomed improvement to the already stunning design of the SEC. These Grand Touring coupes have been gaining popularity in recent years as demand for cars from the analog era has continued to creep up. This particular example has only 69k miles and features a unique right-hand drive setup. Additionally, the White over Brazil Velour is a gorgeous and rarely seen combination. While the rust can be tackled, we might add that this could also be a great opportunity to widebody the car as well... If you’re looking to get behind the wheel of a unique C126 that won’t make you feel guilty for enjoying time on the road, this 420SEC is a very viable solution.

When you go to auction and click the NO RESERVE option, this 420 Sec came up.. I found it odd it didn’t say no reserve on the actual listing.
