This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300TDT Wagon is a German-market example that was presumably imported to California in 1988 where it remained until 2014. The factory service booklet shows first stamping in 1988 in California when the car had 25k miles. The seller acquired the car in August 2019 when it relocated to Virginia. Finished in Astral Silver Metallic (735) over Anthracite Cloth (051), power is provided by a 3.0-liter five-cylinder turbocharged diesel paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes a sliding steel sunroof, central locking, automatic climate control, a power passenger-side mirror and a Kenwood head unit. The car features Euro lighting and bumpers, 16" BBS Mahle wheels, a KKK turbo, larger downpipes, and a lowered suspension. Now with 264k miles on the odometer, this turbo diesel-powered wagon is now offered by the seller in Roanoke, Virginia with the original manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, two keys, the factory spare tire and jack, a spare set of original bundt wheels with tires, a spare dash cap, and a clean Montana title.
The exterior comes finished in Astral Silver Metallic (735) and features original Euro-spec bumpers along with Euro-spec lights and a chrome roof rack. Additional exterior equipment includes yellow front fog lamps, a power passenger-side door mirror, heated rear window, rear window wiper and a mechanical sliding steel sunroof. The car was previously repainted some time prior to the seller's acquisition. The seller notes a spot of bubbling under the paint on the lower corner of the passenger side front fender, paint chips on the rear passenger side pillar, and thinning clear coat on the panel between the windshield wipers. The rear hatch glass was cracked in 2020 and a new OEM Pilkington rear glass was sourced and installed along with a new seal. Detailed photos of all imperfections and the entire exterior are provided in the gallery.
Authentic 16” BBS Mahle wheels feature original BBS center caps and show some rash and wear up close. The BBS wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 225/50 all around with 2019 date codes. A full-size bundt spare is mounted in the rear along with the factory jack. The original bundt wheels with tires installed will also be included in the sale. The car features a lowered ride height with Bilstein shocks, aftermarket springs in the front and the self-leveling height sensor adjusted in the rear.
The cabin is upholstered in Anthracite Cloth (051) which features a Euro pattern with a matching black dash and door panels. Zebrano wood trim lines the center console and dashboard. The seller notes cracks on the dash and a soft dash pad is included along with a spare black plastic dash cover which has not been permanently installed. The seller notes wear on the driver seat back and a tear which has been temporarily patched. Interior appointments include automatic climate control, a Kenwood head unit with bluetooth, electric windows, central locking and a split-folding second row. The seller notes that the passenger side windows are inoperable and needs new regulators.
The factory four-spoke steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation including a 115mph speedometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. This six-digit odometer currently shows approximately 264,560 miles. The seller notes the temperature gauge works intermittently and the ABS light is on.
This S123 is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-five turbodiesel engine which produced 123 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The car features custom downpipes which are larger than factory and a KKK K26 turbo which spools earlier than the T3 allowing for more low end power. The seller notes the hood pad is older and has pieces missing. Upon the seller's acquisition in 2019, a full service was performed including new rear sway bar links, new drive shaft, valve adjustment, thermostat, new A/C compressor, and temperature sensor. The seller states they have performed periodic oil changes with the most recent done in August 2025. The valve cover gasket and lower oil pan are noted to show oil leakage. Partial service records and underbody photos are included in the photo gallery.
The car was imported to the U.S. in or before 1988 when the first stamped entry is noted in the factory service booklet notating just over 25k miles at the time. The Carfax shows first entry in January 2000 still in California where it remained until 2014. The car spent time in Minnesota and Washington before relocating to Virginia with the current seller in 2019. There are no accidents or damage reported. This 300TDT is now offered for sale in with the original manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, two keys, a spare set of bundt wheels with tires, a spare dash cap, and a clean Montana title.
