This 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG was sold new by Mercedes-Benz of Atlanta in December 2000 and shows registration in Florida and Georgia. This W163 is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over Black Exclusive leather (561A) and is powered by a 5.4-liter V8 driving all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes xenon headlamps, 18″ AMG wheels, a factory AMG bodykit, power-adjustable heated front seats, cruise control, COMAND w/integrated bluetooth from Becker, Bose audio, and a lockable safe located beneath the front passenger seat. A binder showing more than a decade of service records and parts receipts is included in the sale along with spare parts and accessories including both cargo covers, a spare set of OEM xenon headlamps, a spare OEM COMAND unit, new OEM door seal, a spare OEM blower motor, a set of brake pads, new Lemforder lower ball joints, a spare windshield washer reservoir, and an AMG shift knob. In preparation for the sale, a fluid flush was performed including coolant, oil, and transmission. All coinciding filters were replaced as well. Additional recent service includes new front brake pads and rotors, new tie rod ends, and a new EGR valve within the last 1,000 miles. This ML55 has 174k miles and is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer with complete factory literature including COMAND map CD’s and the included Explore cassette tape, three key fobs, the aforementioned spare parts and history binder, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The ML is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and is equipped with an AMG body kit consisting of revised bumpers, side skirts, hood, and fender flares. Additional exterior features include fog lights, xenon headlamps with washers, a power sunroof, roof rails, and a factory exhaust with dual AMG-stamped outlets. The included Carfax report shows a clean history and the seller mentions the hood and front fenders were repainted due to various rock chips previously and a new hood badge has been installed to replace a faded original. The headlights are both OEM and remain clear with no signs of oxidation. The windshield shows a small rock chip which has been professionally filled and can be seen in the video walk-around provided. This ML55 recently received a wax and detail in preparation for the sale.
Factory five-spoke 18″ AMG wheels wear Continental CrossContact tires measuring 285/50 on all four corners and show 2018 date codes. Braking is provided by factory painted red calipers clamping discs at all four corners. New front brake pads and rotors along with new tie rod ends were installed within the last 1,000 miles.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Black Exclusive leather (561A) along with matching door panels and carpets. Wood veneer accents the center console, doors, and steering wheel. Equipment includes power-adjustable heated front seats, driver’s seat memory, cruise control, air conditioning, Bose audio, and a lockable safe located beneath the front passenger seat with two keys. The rear cargo area is equipped with the factory spare tire, cover, first aid kit, and jack. An additional cargo cover is included that spans the trunk with the spare tire cover removed. The original floor mats included are embroidered with ML55 AMG. All electronics reportedly function as designed including A/C and heat. In 2022, the factory COMAND unit was sent to Becker for bluetooth integration. The seats show minor creasing in the leather and a small wear spot can be seen in the carpet near the gas pedal. The cargo area shows some wear from general loading and unloading.
The wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel frames white instrumentation consisting of an AMG-branded 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts for outside temperature and time are located on each side with all pixels in working order. The digital odometer shows 174k miles.
The 5.4-liter M113 V8 produced 342 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission with a dual-speed transfer case. In preparation for the sale a fluid flush was performed including coolant, oil, and transmission. Other recent service includes new front brake pads and rotors, new tie rod ends, and a new EGR valve within the last 1,000 miles. A binder showing more than a decade of service history and parts receipts is included in the sale. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below detailing the condition of the suspension components and also show no signs of corrosion.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or damage and shows registration in Florida and Georgia along with linear mileage updates since new. This ML55 now has 174k miles and is offered with spare accessories, spare parts, complete factory literature, three key fobs, and a clean Florida title.
The seller has provided videos showing an exterior walk around, interior walk around, and driving functions.

The monoblocks on the W163s are super cool. One of my more favorite wheel designs AMG did and to see them on a SUV is a thing to behold. This is genesis for the sports SUV segment that is so popular today. It's a neat piece of automotive history. Plus you get an AMG M113 attached to it. This will be a good buy.

@MBDan Thanks! We're proud to represent this one. No smells at all in this ML- seriously smells like any other ML55/period correct AMG. As far as records show the panels are all original but noticeable panel gap on these ML55's is common and somewhat expected at this point. Installing the hitch may have meant the bumper would have had to come off at some point in it's life. Average gaps for what we've seen related to other ML55 and ML430 sport examples. Hope this helps!
Hello. Great car! Quick questions as I am very serious about buying today. Are there any smoker smells or pet smells within the vehicle? And I have notices the varying panel 'gaps', have some of the body panels been replaced throughout ownership? (see gap between rear bumper cover) for example. Thanks in advance!
@GASMotorcars thank you
@AutoAvids313 Good question in the video. That creaking is mostly due to the rear tire cover not being latched correctly. That came up as a question from another user as well. Rest assured it's a quiet drive. Pickup from ATL could be arranged depending on schedule.

Couple of quick questions: There is a lot of creaking in the drive vid. Is that from the seat plastics or just the leather? Would pick up from ATL be possible if one were to fly in/drive out? Thank you

Like a pack of wild animals getting ready to pounce on this southern gem. It's quiet, too damn quiet. Like the calm before the storm. GLWTA those that are in it to win it!
Love seeing records like this for one of these cars. Spare parts and pages of records usually indicates good ownership and a solid car. GLWTA!
@BlueDevilBill This is the owner's 2nd ML55 and third w163. Parts were amassed over years of ownership as spares or stumbled-upon additions. No immediate repairs are needed. The spare COMAND came with the ML after the original was taken out. The owner had the original rebuilt by Becker for bluetooth so the spare is now included. The headlamps were from another ML55 that was previously upgraded and are just a nice added bonus. The AMG shift knob is actually a pretty rare item that's included as an added bonus and the other spares are just spares. We know that's a long answer, hope it helps!
Can you explain the extra parts provided. Just extra or in anticipation of needed repairs? Thanks.
I've seen and driven this particular example and for the miles it's super nice. The owner has it dialed in with a bunch of new parts that need changing at these miles and had a 55-years-experience MB master tech go through the car to straighten out a few hard to diagnose issues. This is a super cool thing.

Wow this must be the highest mileage ML55 I've ever seen. Ever since Tyler Hoover owned that maroon one I've come to love these.

Good morning, we received a question about window tint and wanted to mention the windows are tinted with Llumar ceramic film on both sides and the windshield has clear Llumar ceramic for heat and UV blocking.
