This 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190SL was reportedly longterm owned between a brother and sister for nearly 50 years prior to the selling dealers acquisition. This SL received a prior refurbishment in 2010 and was recently on display at the 190SL Group annual meet in June 2024. Recent service by a marque specialist included a 'super-tune' of the Solex carburetors and the installation of four new whitewall tires. Finished in White over a Black leather cabin, power comes from a 1.9-liter M121 four-cylinder paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. Features include paint matched hub caps with new tires, a paint matched dashboard, chrome trim, and a matching spare tire. The odometer displays 75k miles and this 190SL is offered by the selling dealer with the original tool roll and a clean Ohio title.
The body is finished in White and the car reportedly underwent a prior refurbishment in 2010. The replacement black soft top shows no major rips or tears. Features include chrome stone guards, restored brightwork, a driver's side mirror, and a black top boot cover.
Factory 13″ steel wheels with paint matched hubcaps are shown with new Bridgestone Silvertown white wall tires. A body-colored original full-size spare wheel and tire are shown in the trunk along with the original tool roll.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Leather across the seats, door cards, parcel shelf, and soft top boot. The leather seats were recovered at the time of the refurbishment in 2010. The paint-matched dashboard displays original brightwork for the switchgear and accents while the original ivory steering wheel and shift knob remain in place. Additional features include a Becker Europa radio, an analog clock, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror.
The dual spoke ivory steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The odometer displays 75k miles.
The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was rated for 104 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque when new and features a single overhead camshaft along with dual side-draft Solex carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission. The seller recently had the car 'super-tuned' by a marque specialist along with the installation of four new whitewall tires in preparation for the sale. The car is reported to be in strong running condition with no oustanding issues.
