This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300E is finished in Champagne Metallic (473U) over Palomino MB-Tex (174), and power comes from a 3.0-liter M103 Inline-6 paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. The seller has added approximately 5,000 of the 123,570 miles shown on the odometer. Features include a power sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate control, a Pioneer radio, and power windows. Recent services includes new injectors, power steering box, distributor cap & rotor, and spark plugs. This 300E is now being offered by the owner with partial service records dating back to the 80's, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title.
The exterior is finished in Champagne Metallic (473U) with contrasting grey bumpers and black trim. Features include an electric metal sunroof with tilt function and original headlamps with wipers and integrated yellow fog lights. The seller notes various minor door dents along with rock chips or scrapes along the bumper trim and corners. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery.
This 300E wears 15” OEM Gullideckel wheels mounted on Michelin Energy MXV4 tires measuring 195/65 on all four corners. Braking is handled by disc brakes and the car is equipped with ABS.
The cabin is trimmed in Palomino MB-Tex (174) across the seats, door cards, head rests, armrest, center console, and lower dashboard. The steering wheel is finished in Black along with a Black upper dash. The original Palomino carpets and floor mats remain with the car and Zebrano wood adorns the center console and shift knob. A Pioneer head unit has been added and all interior functions reportedly operate as intended.
The airbag steering wheel frames a 160mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer featuring an analog clock, along with gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer now shows 123,570 miles, approximately 5,000 of which have been added by the seller. The ABS idicator on the dash is stated to intermittently illuminate.

The seller reports recent services to include new spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor, fuel injectors, and a new power steering box. It’s the smart thing to do.
@cdwatnsu I'm intrigued by this comment as a peruse sold auctions 1. The sale price on this car doesn't appear to be a premium, if anything right around or even under market value for the miles so I'm wondering what has caused a delta in expectation when overlaid with price paid. Unless the car was a hidden salvage or rusted through trunk/bottom of doors I'm not terribly sure how much could be THAT wrong 2. In my experience any used Mercedes, even the best maintained and high tier cars have required at least 2-5k in maintenance for both required and preventative (C43, S55, 280se's etc). After all this is not a new car 3. I bought a w111 250se coupe once, and my pre purchase inspection showed up with 6k of repairs... in reality I bought the car, spent about $1000 on must-do's and the rest was not even needed so much so I couldn't for the life of me recall what they were... if you ask a mechanic to find things, they will. good luck with the car, its my favorite color and no doubt worth investing some $ to make it even better as it sounds like its not where you want it to be. You are in it for the price of a pretty crappy old civic at this point. Oh and on second vieweing of the pics aside from a couple body dings in line with age, I"m seeing an incredible interior, amazing wood, upholstery, bright orange gauges (dead give away its been garaged), smooth and straight panels aside from those couple dings a PDR guy could remove and underneath looks pretty acceptable, appears to be some corrosion on the bolts... typical for a midwest car but doesn't appear to have any signs of anything beyond that... so upon reflection, I think this was a great price for what the car gives... a 4k w124 with 165,000 would look like an absolute dog next to this... so really... what is wrong with it I wonder
I’d advise everyone to get a Pre-Purchase Inspection..
Wow!! What are collection. I’m envious! Hope this one is just as good as your green wagon.
@nrajput90 my name on Cars & Bids is W124Lover…that’s where I bought my wagon. These are great cars. I just wanted a pre-facelift, classic car. The E 320 are too new for me, lol
@nrajput90 Thank you, and no sir. I’ve owned 5 x W124 (wagon, coupe and sedans), a W201, W126 and w V140.
Congrats @cdwatnsu ! Excellent deal. Is this your first W124?
@Youngclassicamg sent you an email. I’m going to call later, if you’re available.
I recently purchased the '92 300E listed for sale on this site. Just want to say, these are wonderful cars and this one looks like a clean and well-maintained example. Good luck in the last few minutes of the auction!
@cdwatnsu safest method I know of and have used quite frequently.
I’m in Virginia, so not local. But got it, wire transfer. Is that safe, with all of the scams going on, it seems like forever?
@cdwatnsu cash or wire transfer are preferred depends if you are local.
Should I win, what are the types of payment you accept?
@cdwatnsu haha

beautiful car
Oh, I see it. Trip doesn’t turn but odometer does.
@cdwatnsu Hello in the video provided towards the end you can see the odometer moving
Do you have a driving video that shows the odometer moving?
Hey guys I am replacing a front tire as I had a blowout today and I had the car at my mechanic and he recommend I get the radiator replaced it does not effect drivability of the car as it is a small slow leak common on these older radiators. I will include a new radiator, thermostat and upper and lower radiator hose in the sale.
