This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300E is finished in Diamond Blue Metallic (355) over Gray (178) MB-Tex and powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. This US-Spec car was sold new by Executive Auto Haus in Cocoa, Florida in April 1987 for $39,500 before relocating to Vancouver where it has remained since 1994. Features include power-adjustable front seats with driver-side memory, a power sunroof, a Becker Grand Prix stereo, and upgraded Euro Headlights. Service includes new spark plugs, new fuel pump, fuel filter, new brake pads, new battery, an oil/filter service and the replacement of the blower motor. This W124 shows 135k miles and is offered by the seller at No Reserve with the original window sticker, partial service records, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean British Columbia title.
The body is finished in Diamond Blue Metallic (355) with charcoal-colored bumper covers and features blue pinstripes, Euro-spec lighting, a metal sunroof, and a power antenna. US-Spec headlights were swapped for Euro lenses under current ownership and the headlight wipers have been removed from the exterior. Close up images of the paint are viewable in the gallery and the seller reports the presence of a few parking lot “dings” and scrapes as the only imperfections. The March 2021 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and the paint is believed to be all original.
Painted 15″ Gullideckel wheels wear Toyo Celsius tires sized 195/65 all around and wearing 2017 date codes. The seller reports that the brake pads were replaced within the last two months. Corrosion is visible on the exhaust tips and muffler in the gallery.
The cabin is finished in Gray (178) MB-Tex with Zebrano wood trim. Factory amenities include power-adjustable seats with driver-side memory, tempomat cruise control, an electrically-adjustable steering column, and automatic climate control. This car was optioned with the electric sliding sunroof which functions as intended and the original head unit has been replaced with an OEM Becker unit from a 1989 W124 model. The Zebrano wood trim presently very nicely with no noticeable cracks or delamination visible. The seller reports that the rear passenger side window is not operational and notes the presence of wear and tear on the driver’s bolster.
The steering wheel houses a driver’s airbag and frames three circular gauges. The analog odometer shows 135,431 original miles. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6,400-rpm redline, and an analog odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure along with an analog clock and digital external temperature gauge.
The 3.0-liter M103 inline-six was rated at 177 horsepower at 5,700-rpm and 188 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm when new. The blower motor was replaced approximately four years ago according to the provided service records. An oil service, new spark plugs, new fuel filter & pump were installed approximately 8 months ago. The seller reports that the idle control valve is currently unplugged.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage with linear mileage updates and history in Florida and Vancouver from new.

@mbmarket are total pros. Thanks for handling this doofus. For anyone in Vancouver BC, I’m sure you’ll see the E on a corner lot with “Runs great! Cold A/C” in neon in the windshield. Seems like a solid car, but from a shaky seller, so beware.
What a terrible deal if the seller backed out. I literally missed placing another bid by 2 seconds, and I'm GLAD I did! @tcstracker I hope you the seller makes good on this.
@e300man what a cuck. Some people take reality checks very differently. Unfortunately he took it the wrong way and now @tcstraker is gonna have to deal with some of the hassle.
@e300man and @mbmarket. Total rookie move. I’ve purchased many cars on BaT, and imported two. I’ve never had a SELLER back out of a no reserve auction. This dude needs to be banned …. Not that it matters. He won’t be back. Mbmarket please refund my buyers fee already charged .
Seems like an awesome car. @e300man thx. I’ve purchased from Vancouver before so hopefully it’ll be just as simple as before !
@E300man I would have went much higher, but transport at 3k hurts
Euro headlights look so good on these. Someone is getting a nice car!
Let’s get some real bids going! $2000 is way too low

AC works well. Not sure about what kinda of frion it’s using though. Hope that helps
Approaching the summer here in the US, Midwest. Can you provide information on the AC? Does it function currently? Is it the original R22 or has it been converted to R134a?

Headlights were badly sunfaded and cracked. Wipers were junk and both were thrown out. Current lights are DOT approved.

Okay thank you for clarifying. Do you have the original headlights and wipers that came with the car, and if so, could they be purchased with the vehicle?
Headliner is mint. No stains, sagging etc. As seen in pictures. Driver door had the plastic paneling fall off on the bottom. What you see is some glue that seeped out of the crack when repaired. Vehicle is rust free all around aside from some corrosion mentioned on the muffler.
Hi There, on photo no.59, is that corrosion / rust on the lower part of the door and door jam? Can you also snap a photo of the headliner, if it is not in good shape. Thanks.

A cold start video has been added to the listing.
I’ve sent in a cold start video to the team. Hopefully to be added soon. Thanks
$750 bid placed by @joeman100
I see the car has been warmed up before the startup in the video, is there a cold start video in the works?
A startup and driving video of the vehicle has been added to the listing.
@SLO_W124 fuel economy has been good. Id say from my estimations an average of around 21 mpg.
Nice car! I’m curious, what kind of fuel economy the car has returned over the years?
Idle control valve was unplugged due to idle being too high. Doesn't burn any oil, no blue smoke etc. Nothing is needed aside from the window regulator or switch. Video including cold start and city / highway drive to come.
Beautiful car that would be perfect as a daily driver. How much oil does the car burn? Could you take any videos of the cold start, warm start, and driving in general? Why was the idle control valve unplugged? Does the car need any work besides the rear window motor/switch? Hope I can get this thing :)
Only ever ran 91 through it throughout its entire life
Vehicle is an easy export for American buyers. Over 25 years old. Vehicle has been maintained to a high standard. Previous owners used it to drive back and forth from their winter home in palm springs. Has spent most of its life in either Florida or the Desert. Any questions feel free to ask.
