COME ON GUYS THIS IS A GREAT CAR!
Someone's getting a sharp R129!
@FastEddy Pinstriping was probably a dealer add-on when new. But a 3M rubber wheel will take it off in 5 minutes. Id leave it, personally. Its perfectly era-correct to me. The mounting holes from the front plate can be covered with rubber flat buttons/pins. Just spray them with a little Almandine metallic paint first and they'll blend in nicely.
Is there a way to remove front license plate bracket WITHOUT leaving a mark, for those states that do NOT require a front plate (and those "bandits" who would not THINK of defacing a design with a state-mandated "blemish.")? Also, is the body line pin striping OEM?
The Almandine Red Metallic is so perfect on this early 90s R129 body....tempted to bid on this but no room at the Inn, sadly! Good Luck to bidders and seller on this beauty!

This is a 1992 with a 1990-91 steering wheel? Why would the owner want to go back to big bus driver wheel versus the smaller one that started in 1992?
It is important to see pictures of the canvas top and the hard top, neither is shown in the 50+ photos.

Very complimentary article in this months MBCA club magazine (The Star) on the R129 SL. Calls it "the first truly modern SL".
Beautiful car, but I do question the belief that the paint is all original. The bumpers and lower cladding are glossy, when they were originally supplied in a semi-matte version on all colors with the exception of Signal Red, where you had the option of matching glossy Signal Red or contrasting darker red in semi-matte. The only other explanation is that the bumpers and lower cladding were polished, but even then they wouldn't be as evenly shiny as they are. Not a big deal to many and the finish looks excellent, but would matter to a nit-picky buyer that is looking for a car that has had absolutely no paint work.
Great color! Excellent presentation! GLWTA!
