This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E shows a two owner history with registrations noted in Pennsylvania, Maine, and Virginia. The current owner and seller purchased the car in 2012 from the first owner with 102k miles on the odometer. The car is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199U) over Anthracite Leather (271) and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes original 16x8” 8-hole wheels, a sunroof, heated and power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, an aftermarket JVC head unit, and an electrically adjustable side mirror. Now with 151k miles shown, this 500E is offered with 10+ years of service records, owner’s manuals, tool kit, a Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title.
The car is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199U) with grey lower body cladding. Equipment includes US-spec headlights and fender lights, fog lights, headlight wipers, a sunroof, and an automatic antenna. The 500E comes fitted with flared front and rear fenders along with widened bumpers to match compared to a standard W124. This example shows various light paint defects including clearcoat failure on the hood, roof, and trunk lid highlighted in the gallery below along with a ding at beltline along the passenger front door. In addition, rust is reported and shown at the front fender corners and edges, on the rear right of the deck lid, under the spare tire, and under the battery tray.
Original 16x8” 8-hole wheels are mounted and wear Michelin Pilot HX tires measuring 225/55 all around with 2019 date codes shown. The 500E featured Porsche-tuned suspension with a lower ride height than contemporary standard W124 models and also required a wider track for better handling.
The cabin features factory Recaro seats upholstered in Anthracite Leather (271) with matching headrests, door cards, and armrests. Burl wood trim accents the dashboard, center stack in the front and rear, and door panels. Equipment includes power-adjustable and heated front seats, an electric rear roller blind, automatic climate control, and an aftermarket JVC head unit featuring bluetooth sound. The seller notes some wear in the leather around the steering wheel and leather peeling away from the B-pillar on the driver’s side of the car. In addition, the center rear view mirror shows glue where it was affixed within the frame. The original Becker head unit will be included in the sale along with the stock ampflifier and related hardware.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation that includes a 160mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 151k original miles.
The 5.0-liter DOHC M119 V8 was factory rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. More than 10 years of service history accompany the 500E via paper records. The seller notes a check engine light on and low power under cold start until warm. When ambient temperature is warm the issue does not persist.
The Carfax reports only two owners, linear mileage updates, and one damage report in 2009 proir to the owner's acquisition. This 500E is offered with 10+ years of service records, owner’s manuals, tool kit, and a clean Virginia title.

@PVBTexas questions in order... 1. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ignition control module, and electronic accelerator module were all done in recent services. The ignition lock turns very fluidly and there are no catches with either of the two keys included with the car. 2. To the best of my knowledge, this car was not equipped with keyless entry 3. Referencing question 1, this car will come with two keys 4. Ventilation controls and blendoor controls appear to be working correctly. 5. There are a few leaks/seeps coming from the engine bay. The largest I can note appears to be coming from the steering gearbox. 6. I will submit a video of cold start that should show up later this evening/tomorrow morning Thank you for your questions and I'll be happy to answer any others you may have! -Stone

@StoneBelvin Thank you for reply, few more questions. You mentioned ignition work, can you tell me what specifically? Can you tell me if the ignition tumbler operates smoothly? Does it get stuck of feel catchy when starting the car, turning to accessory mode etc? Does it have keyless entry, if so, does that work as it suppose to? Does it come with 1 or 2 keys? Do ventilation control work as they should? Defrost, switching from top vents to bottom vents etc. Any fluid leaks? Can you post video of a cold start. Id like to hear how the engine sounds to the best of your ability. Thank you!
@PVBTexas to reply to your questions in order 1. I don't have any reason to believe that it will fail smog (no smoking or running rich) but I cannot say for sure as we do not test for smog here in VA 2. Major recent (within a few years) services include suspension, ignition, brakes, tires, overall tuneup and several others 3. I have seen some records of electrical repair and diagnostics but nothing specific to harness issues. 4. Cooling system has been serviced a few years back. I didn't see any records of timing chain repair but I have not gone through all of the records as there are a lot to go through. 5. The Air Conditioning doesn't seem to blow very cool but the heater does work well. The AC appears to need servicing at this time. 6. I don't see any electrical gremlins and the owner doesn't know of any issues. The only gremlins we have found are the CEL staying on and the brake pad wear light is on from what we believe is a broken pad wear sensor. 7. I have absolutely no reason to think it wouldn't make a 1500 mile journey. The owner has taken it on many road trips up and down the east coast without a single issue. I have gotten the opportunity to cruise this car quite a bit and it runs very very well. Truly a lovely driver quality car. Please feel free to comment or message me any further questions!
Hello, some questions for the owner here. Any problems passing smog with that check engine light? Can you comment on some of the recent major services? Any attention given to Engine wiring harness, Lifter oil guides, Timing chain and cooling system? Does AC & Heater work? Any electrical problems? Will it make a 1500-mile journey home? Thanks!
