A walk around and interior tour of the car has been provided below.
On the brink of the auto industry migrating away from high displacement and naturally aspirated power plants, the M119 V8-powered Mercedes from the 90’s remain flagships against even the newest iteration of the S-Class and other modern luxury options. We’re marginally accustomed to seeing late model C140’s but examples showing good colors like this are few and far between. The W/C140 chassis cars are known for being some of the most well-built and comfortable cars ever produced so it's no surprise to see others for sale with well beyond 200k miles regularly. To top it off, this example has only 74k miles and comes in a rare color combination with those highly desirable AMG monoblock wheels which greatly increases the curb appeal of any 90s Benz. For those looking for a rare big body coupe that still has decades left to give its owner - in style - this one's for you.

@ProdigalPetrolHead the winner of this auction will take home a great example of one of the best engineered Mercedes-Benz ever and an absolute appreciating market. Good 140s will always have a strong position as an investment. You can't have any bank or investment accounts that will give you such a return for so little money. W140s and C140s are coming and becoming the next big thing.
TONS to love about this car. From the color combination to the wheels, I'm convinced these will be appreciating assets when spec'd like this. GLWTA to the seller!

@rubinhoward600 exactly, this car was manufactures after the bio harnesses were discontinued, so no worries there
Wiring Harness - for reference they stopped with the biodegradable engine harnesses on W140s late in (Oct / Nov maybe) of 1995. Sure there is probably the odd partsbin part installed on a later car, but the main biodegradable engine upper, lower, and body harnesses are not compatible with a 1996 model, due to the layout of the computers and their connectors. I went through an entire harness overhaul on my 1995 S600 which was indeed affected. I purchased a 96 wiring harness made in 11/95 which was in perfect order. It didn't fit since it was the newer version.
@rubinhoward600 Thanks for your kind words and you are on point. Hopefully it goes to a great home that will drive it, enjoy it and continue a great heritage.
Someone needs to buy this car, Monogram their initials in the same color as the pinstripe, and move to Palm Beach. Such a gorgeous (and rare) color combination. You never see these C140's on the road. The way they compose themselves and stand proud amongst modern cars is a beauty in itself. And once you try to close the door, you will quickly understand why the W140 engineered soft close functions. GLWTA, someone will be very lucky and pleased with this car. Not to mention the Monoblocks...

@savanesov1982 probably wet spot on the video. there are no stains
Question there is a stain by the headlight controls in the video. However in the pictures it’s not there. Seems strange.
@Bpower98 this car has zero rust. Was put away for winter every season. It will be ver hard for anyone to find a 140 chassis this clean and unmolested. It spent a lot of time in climate controlled storage and babied. I will prepare some undercarriage photos to upload.
As the car was sold in New York, is there any visible rust? Are their photos of the underside? Thank you
@hdakov I can assist shipping world wide at auction winner’s additional expense. I do get very good rates through quality, experienced shippers
Hello there, what an amazing looking C140 example! Would you be able to assist with shipping it overseas?
@WeekendMD thank you! It’s such a nice touch, especially in the color of the interior
This is lovely! The pinstripe is a lost art for sure
@matzbatz80 the video you wanted to see is up already
@petrolgears thank you! It’s truly sensational

@germancars Thank you so much! I've been wanting one of these for a couple years. Thanks again for the information.
@MATZBATZ80 Thanks for the compliments, the pictures don't really do justice to the color and the condition of this car. Regarding your questions: 1) Harness seems to be in perfect functioning condition as it is beyond the date range for this precise model. The way the engine idles and runs, shows that the harness is unmolested and in proper factory specification. 2) Radio function is also to par with specs, and considering this car's history and condition, I expect the installation to be professionally done with the highest standards. I have not removed the radio and honestly don't want to risk damaging the interior, to see how it was installed, if it's working well. 3) Video coming soon. Keep an eye on the action of this auction lot. 4) Pictures 22 and 36 show the paint scratches in detail Happy bidding!
Hey there Four questions; 1.) I'm wondering if you've looked at the wire harness or the date of a possible replacement of the wire harness. This cars model year is on the edge of the harness being a potential issue. 2.) I see there is an aftermarket stereo. I'm wondering if it is connected to the cars factor amps and the stereo harness there for is still intact? 3.) Are you going to post any running idling, cold start videos and on-the-road videos? 4.) I noticed some scratches and scuffs that are a bit hard to see in the photos. Also tire condition is hard to tell. Do you think you could take some photos pointing on the rough spots and of the tires. Beautiful car and thanks in advance.
@cjaubert they both do
Do the seat belt extenders both work properly?
