This 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 Kompressor was sold new in July 1998 and was purchased by the seller in 2001 when it relocated to Virginia and has remained there ever since. Finished in Black (040) over Two-tone Red Leather (227), power is provided by a supercharged 2.3-liter M111 4-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include an electric-folding paint-matched hardtop, an original Becker head unit, dual-zone climate control, retractable cup holders, and a factory wind deflector. This R170 currently shows 108k miles on the odometer and is offered with manufacturer's literature, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller's name.
Finished in Black (040), this car has been well-kept and is believed to retain original paint on all panels. All the glass is noted as being original along with headlight and taillight lenses. Features include a fully automatic folding hardtop, front fog lamps, headlamp washers, and remote locking. The seller notes one ding on the top of the driver front fender which could be removed with paintless dent removal.
This SLK is fitted with the original alloy wheels measuring 16x8 on all four corners. The wheels are wrapped in Khumo front and Sailun rear tires measuring 225/50. The wheels show no signs of curb rash or damage to the faces.
The cabin is trimmed in Two-tone Red Leather (227A) across the seats and door cards. Additional leather-trimmed features include the steering wheel and shift knob. All leather surfaces are reported to be original with no tears. The Black dashboard is free from cracks along with the upper door cards and tonneau cover. The center console is trimmed in OEM Sport trim and still presents nicely. The red trim along with center console and dash shows some flaking. Features include the original Becker head unit, dual-zone climate control, retractable cup holders, and an OEM wind deflector. The original SLK branded floor mats are still included with the car.
The digital odometer shows 108k original miles with 56k added by the seller since 2001. The four-spoke Sport steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature, a digital clock, and digital external temperature gauge.
The supercharged 2.3-liter M111 inline-4 was rated at 190 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a 722.6 automatic five-speed transmission. The M111 features a roots-style M62 Eaton supercharger and an air to air intercooler. Service records since 2001 accompany the car showing a hydraulic top cylinder rebuild and headliner recover in 2015.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or damage, linear mileage updates, and 33 service history records. This SLK is offered with factory literature, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title from the seller.

There's an interior dye kit for these cars that can touch up the red trim pieces in a couple minutes. I had a friend who did that on a SLK32 a few years ago and it looked like new. Very cheap and easy to do for the next owner.
