@beeker1320 The rear of the soft top always takes a few seconds to engage on all R129's. It will slowly depressurize and then send a signal to the soft top ECU. It works with a magnetic sensor located above the windshield.
seems like a hesitation on rear top locks as it closes in video??
@TimGM67 This one deserves well above that IMHO. It looks like a lot of us were watching that same auction. Best of luck all!
@sebaf1 When our family purchased this SL600 in 2002 from the Mercedes Dealer, a database search concluded this was 1 of 35 examples. I simply decided to include that information if anyone / its next owner was curious. I agree though, the condition speaks volumes. Good luck bidding !
@MBSince85 So 1 of 35 in this color combo in 1999 ?? That's nothing really so special. Amazing condition that make this car special.
@Vlad600sel Thank you !

@Joseph Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. If you can make some room in your collection, I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed in owning this ! Hope to see you bidding. Thanks, D.M.
@TimGM67 Thank you for your kind words and input, Tim. I watched that as well ! A wonderful finish for a well deserving example. These are for sure to be appreciating classics in the not so distant future ! Hope to see you bid tomorrow.
This will be one hell of an auction tomorrow. Magma red on BaT just sold for $65,000 today and I prefer this triple Silver Example!
What a Beautiful flawless car. I haven’t seen one in this condition and I’ve seen many over the past couple months. By far the cleanest example. If my stable wasn’t full I’d for sure be taking this off your hands. Whomever buys this will be getting an exceptional example of a R129 modern classic. Good luck on the sale. Clean fined
@mokh77 I see what you are talking about. Thats not damage or rust. It seems that a black garbage bag on the road must have stuck onto the heat shield. That should easily be removable and my apologies that that was not done so prior to the listing of the vehicle. I will try and get you a close of picture of it later.
@MBSince85 photo numbers: 229, 231, 233 and 270 are the ones that show the damage. They are not very clear and that is the reason I have asked for closer photos if possible.
@mokh77 can you please tell me which photo # you are referring to ? There is no damage or rust to speak of on the heatshields of the car. Here is another photo directly of the heatshields that can be seen. https://ibb.co/Yd5sYWH
@MBSince85 Thank you. the passenger exhaust Heat Sheild seems to be rusted or damages. Can I trouble you to send closer photos of the passenger side exhaust Heat Sheild. You may not need to put it on a lift if you can slide your camera in a position to capture it. Sorry if I am asking too much.
@mokh77 12 additional undercarriage photos have been uploaded when the car was on the lift
Additional underbody photos have been added to the gallery.
@mokh77 Completely understandable. I can assure you the car is as clean on the underside as it is around the body. I have messaged Blakley from @theMBmarket personally to upload an additional 12 photos (24 undercarriage pics total) I just submitted last night to the gallery. Hopefully they will be added soon. Thank you for your interest and patience.
@MBSince85 Thank you for your reply. I do see the 12 photos of the undercarriage. Is it possible to put it on a lift and provide more detailed photos? The photos you have posted currently are not bad but for a northern car, it would help myself and other bidders view presence/absence of any rust. The car looks great and I am sure underneath is just as nice. If you could help us verify it would be appreciated.
@mokh77 Hello. I have submitted an additional 12 photos of the undercarriage to the google file link I was assigned by @theMBmarket. They should be adding them to the listing for viewing momentarily. Thank you.
Is it possible for the Seller to put the car on a lift and provide more detailed photos of the undercarriage?

@DIYcarguy Hello ! This is a special car that truly shaped what a combination of modern and classic design / engineering can achieve. In 1999, only 557 V12 R129's were produced for the entire World. That being said, with the options that this particular example has ( SL1, SL2, Multicontour Seats), in this color combination, including the Orion Gray soft top, there were only 34 other examples produced exactly like it World Wide. Fast Forward 23 years later, who knows how many are left.
Hi! Can you explain why this is 1 of 35 Examples Produced?
@MBSince85 Love the new videos. You can bet on me and a slew of others being here till the end that's for sure! After watching @GreenbriarCC in action I think I may have a problem. "I'm gonna need a bigger boat"
@Nachoz Thank you for your kind words and for tuning into this auction ! It's a great pleasure to offer this SL600 here. Hope you will be watching till the end !

A video has been added to the listing showing the suspension operation and a walk around of the car.
@Clutch Hello, and thanks for tuning into this auction. Requested videos will be taken & uploaded when I get back from work next week. In the meantime, I do have a walkaround / suspension operation video I will be uploading today. Yes - there are some slight marks / scratches on the Driver Side seat adjustment switch panel as shown.
Hello Seller, lovely car. Could you please post videos of the top operating, a cold start and a short driving video? Also, the car appears immaculate however in picture #168 there appear to be scratches on the door panel next to the seat adjustment buttons, can you comment? Thank you and GLWTA.
@equinepeddler Thank you ! Its a dream to drive, especially with the multicontour seats.
@sushipaste Thank you for your interest in this beautiful SL600. The front passenger shock developed slight seepage which prompted a brand new factory replacement to be installed. An operational video displaying the suspension raising and lowering will be added to the gallery shortly.
Love the color combo. What prompted replacement of the shocks? They’re not true dampeners in this ads setup (that’s done by the accumulators) and should last a very long time and not need replacement until they start leaking…
WOW! I had to do a double take when I saw this is a 600. This must be a great drive!
