This 2001 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is finished in Firemist Red Metallic (548U) over Nappa Saffron leather (234A) and currently shows 94k miles. The car is now being offered by the seller with a clean Carfax report, original toolkit, maintenance records and a clean California title on The MB Market.

Love the color combo. What prompted replacement of the shocks? They’re not true dampeners in this ads setup (that’s done by the accumulators) and should last a very long time and not need replacement until they start leaking…
Sometimes your words just hypnotize me, and I just love your flashy ways.... If you've seen the music vid, you know why its fitting here :) Very pretty color combo. GLWTA!
You should offer the winner of the car the option to facilitate refurbishment of the broken wood at Madera Concepts since they're up in Goleta and the car is still here in SoCal. They're supposedly the best in the nation for auto woodwork so I'll be taking a mini road trip to them to drop off my busted up sl600 wood pieces.
Looks nice. Front suspension looks like it could use new struts. Bilstein B4s are pretty nice. Original wheels will run like $3k if the winner wants to get them but the set on the car can be easily sold for $2k GLWTA!
040 black is a very good looking color. GLWS. @Daddyschak Find me on the benzworld forum, I’ve got something to show you
@OldCarProblemsI never said secondaries aren’t needed for road legality. One actually can get smogged in Commiefornia without secondary cats. All of us in the auto enthusiast community out here know how, and I’ll gladly assist a CA buyer with this. Given the car has been in CA all its life and I live out here, the Magnaflows of course are CARB approved and I’m well aware of the requirement, but thank you nonetheless.
@OldCarProblemsThank you for pointing that out. So as long as two Magnaflow cats like the fronts are welded back into position, then the vehicle will be perfectly legal to drive on all US roads, but honestly Uncle Sam doesn’t care and will never care about something like this. Why the secondaries are gone? I had my exhaust shop do away with em. I like the mod as it makes the exhaust have a beautiful slightly deeper tone without increasing the volume. Primaries were already Magnaflow when I purchased.
finally someone bid. I was worried markets were down bad today or something
@GibsonMBThe color is also a point of constant compliments, everywhere I go too! Definitely agree about the xenons. Was a requirement of mine when I first was looking for an R129
The badge looks like it just needs a small raise and angle adjustment then it’s perfectly positioned. GLWS!
@2002SAaddressed this in a previous comment, buyer didn't pay and the sale fell through
Congrats to seller and winner. Hopefully my SL does well in the bidding department!
There's no point in last minute bids, you can't snipe since the timer resets to two minutes with each bid starting at the final 2 minutes
@retiredpasta Thanks! Did my best to always keep it good looking and as pristine as possible during my ownership
@NishbooThe trunk simply wasn't closed all the way. Photos in the gallery will show perfect alignment. Also thank you for your bid. Good luck!
@CryoBenzthat’s the solid build quality era of Mercedes for you! Maintain these cars and they will truly last forever
@super500yes sir ! The A/C works perfectly
@super500yes, unfortunately that sale fell through. I took that as a sign to bring it to this site where it should’ve gone in the first place
