This 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK430 Cabriolet first shows registration in New Jersey in January 2001 and was purchased by the current owner on The MB Market in December 2022. Finished in Black (040) over Quartz leather (215), power is provided by a naturally aspirated 4.3-liter M113 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes AMG body styling, staggered 17” AMG wheels, a power-operated black soft top, heated power-adjustable front seats with memory, Xenon headlamps, COMAND, Bose audio, and a removable wind deflector. The odometer now shows just over 45k miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added under current ownership. The seller reports a recent convertible-top hydraulic repair and an oil change approximately one year ago. This CLK430 is now offered by the current owner in Denver, Colorado with manufacturer’s literature, floor mats, a wind deflector, a first-aid kit, a Carfax report, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and features an AMG-sculpted front bumper, side skirts, and rear apron. Additional equipment includes Xenon headlamps, fog lamps, mirror-mounted turn signals, and a power-operated black soft top with a heated glass rear window. Front-bumper touch-up work was disclosed in the previous listing, along with a rear-bumper repaint that the prior seller attributed to a scratch from another vehicle at a stoplight. The Carfax dates the corresponding minor rear-damage entry to October 2018. The seller reports that the convertible top operates properly following recent hydraulic work. Detailed exterior and soft-top photos are provided in the gallery.
Staggered 17” AMG five-spoke alloy wheels wear Kumho Ecsta 4X tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 at the rear. The tires carry 2018 date codes, and minor curb marks were noted in the previous listing. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with anti-lock functionality. A brake-fluid flush was recorded in March 2019, and the wheels and tires are shown in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in Quartz leather (215) with contrasting darker dashboard and steering-wheel surfaces, coordinating carpeting, and Bird’s Eye Maple wood accents on the doors and center console. Both front seats are heated and power adjustable with three-position memory. Additional features include automatic climate control, COMAND, Bose audio, power windows, cruise control, and a removable wind deflector that mounts over the rear seating area. Factory literature and the first-aid kit are pictured in the trunk, and fitted floor mats are included. The seller reports no additional interior or electrical faults beyond the instrument-display issue noted below.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Digital displays provide the odometer, trip mileage, outside temperature, and clock readouts. The odometer shows 45,111 miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added since the December 2022 auction. The seller notes that the odometer-display pixels occasionally malfunction but generally remain legible.
The naturally aspirated 4.3-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The prior listing documented valve-cover gasket replacement and fluid servicing under previous ownership, while the Carfax specifically records brake-fluid, differential-fluid, and transmission-fluid service with a transmission-filter replacement in March 2019. More recent entries show maintenance inspections at Star Tech Mercedes in December 2024 and November 2025. The current seller reports an oil change approximately one year ago and a recent convertible-top hydraulic repair. No additional mechanical issues are reported.
The Carfax report shows registration history in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Colorado, and 21 service-history records. The current owner acquired the car following its December 2022 sale on The MB Market. This CLK430 Cabriolet is offered with manufacturer’s literature, floor mats, a removable wind deflector, a first-aid kit, a Carfax report, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

There’s something particularly appealing about a V8-powered Mercedes convertible that doesn’t need an AMG badge to make its case. The CLK430 gets the important ingredients right: a naturally aspirated M113, a five-speed automatic, four seats, and AMG styling that gives the relatively compact A208 just enough presence. Black over Quartz suits the shape nicely, and the combination of light leather and Bird’s Eye Maple is a welcome reminder of how inviting these interiors can be with the roof down and carbon fiber is left on the racetrack. We last saw this example in December 2022, and it returns with only about 1,500 additional miles. That makes this less a rediscovery than a chance to revisit a familiar car with another chapter of ownership behind it. The recent top hydraulic repair is a worthwhile addition to the story, while the older tires and intermittent display pixels remain considerations for the next owner. For someone looking to enjoy a proper four-seat Mercedes cabriolet, this CLK430 offers plenty to appreciate without needing to turn every drive into an occasion.
