A walk around and interior view of the car has been provided below.
With limited production numbers, the W210 E55 AMG has become a rare commodity. The 2001 model year is the lowest production year of them all with only 653 units offered for North America. Enthusiasts today are searching for the perfect car that still maintains a more connected, analog feel while providing speed, style, reliability, and modern day creature comforts. That perfectly sums up the W210 AMG. Many of the surviving examples on the market are well beyond 200k miles and, in some cases, are burdened with corrosion issues or heavy wear. This particular E55 has managed to accrue only 64k miles since rolling off the showroom floor and has been cared for as a proper enthusiast example should. The naturally aspirated M113 will forever be hailed as one of AMG's most robust and reliable engines. Back in its day, the E55 was able to compete from a performance standpoint with the likes of the Porsche 911 and Chevrolet Corvette. The only difference was seating for 5 and a comfy, luxurious cabin fit for long trips or the daily commute. The W210 AMG is no longer a secret; it’s officially a sought after collectible and a must have for any Mercedes enthusiast.
We've been fortunate enough to spend some up close and personal quality time with this E55. Coming from guys who've owned nearly 20 of these cars over the years, this one is particularly special as it was formely owned by one of The MB Market founders, Blakley Leonard, back in 2015 and 2017. That's right, twice. Behind the wheel, it's like traveling back in time and experiencing the greatness of these cars when new. There's no rattles or creaks, the suspension is firm and quite, and the steering is responsive and tight. When compared to the later generations of E-class, even of the most recent years, we would choose this E55 each and every day. From a reliability and cost-to-own standpoint, there's nothing better. No air suspension to quarrel with, brake jobs don't cost thousands, no interior screens to fail, no supercharger or turbo to worry about... just raw, unapologetic analog wizardry from the powerhouse of AMG and looks to kill.
