This one-owner 2001 Mercedes-Benz SLK320 Sport was sold new at Hammersly Motors of Lynchburg, VA in November 2001 for $50,875. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over Anthracite leather (211), this R170 SLK is powered by a 3.2-liter V-6 power plant mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include the Sport AMG styling with sculpted bumpers and side skirts along with AMG wheels, a power-folding hardtop, heated seats, and climate control. Recent work includes replacement of the convertible top pump and a fluid service. The odometer presents only 8k original miles. This SLK 320 Sport is now offered by the widow of the original owner with the laminated original window sticker, dealer service, factory books and literature, radio code cards, two original key FOBs, two valet keys, original tool roll, jack, spare tire, first aid kit, and a clean Carfax report.
The body is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and is free of any blemishes. Exterior features include a power-retractable hardtop with an electrically heated rear window and the Sport package which includes AMG bumpers, side skirts, and single chrome exhaust outlet. A video showing the power folding hardtop operation is viewable below and the convertible top pump was recently replaced by the dealer in April 2022. All of the Brilliant Silver Metallic paintwork is original and the panel gaps are all even and symmetrical. Accordingly, the Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage. The front end is free of rock chips or other imperfections and presents appropriately as an 8k-mile car.
The staggered 17” AMG monoblock 5-spoke wheels are specific to the Sport Package and wrapped in the original Continental ContiSportContact tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 in the rear with 2000 date codes. Despite being old, there are no signs of dry rot but the seller states the rubber is hard. The OEM wheels still retain their factory machined lips and painted faces and are free of any curb rash or imperfections.
The interior is trimmed in Anthracite leather (211) with matching black carpets, dash and center console. The leather hides on both bucket seats are heated and in excellent condition. Additional features include manual climate control, cruise control, cup holders, and the factory Mercedes-Benz radio. The entry/skid plates and pedals wear OEM metal sport trim with black rubber accents. Eucalyptus wood trim adorns the center console, air vents, and doors with no cracks or other visible imperfections in the trim. The rubberized interior trim paint shows a blemish near the handbrake lever as well as below the handle on the glove box. SLK-branded OEM rubber mats are installed over top the original carpet mats and included with the sale.
The four-spoke Sport wood and leather wrapped steering wheel sits in front of a chrome-ringed gauge cluster displaying a 160-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, and additional readouts for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads just 8,053 original miles. A digital clock and outside temperature gauge are also present.
The 3.2-liter M112 V-6 cylinder powerplant is rated at 215-hp and 229 lb-ft of torque from the factory. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. The car was recently received it's state-required annual inspection at the dealership in November 2021 and also had the convertible top pump replaced in April 2022. In 2005, both vario roof lift cylinders were replaced by the dealer.
The provided Carfax report shows linear mileage updates and no accidents or other damage along with 36 service history records. This single-owner SLK is now offered by the widow of the original owner with the laminated window sticker, factory books and literature, radio code cards, two original key FOBs, two valet keys, original tool roll, jack, spare tire, first aid kit, and a clean Virginia title in the seller's name.
A video of the top operation is viewable below along with a walk around and interior tour of the car.

@acd76 Hey, the car was originally titled only in my husband's name and after his passing I had the title transferred into my name which Carfax recorded as a second owner. Thank you

Really good presentation on this. I’ll be shocked if these SLKs aren’t regarded as collectible down the road
Seller here just checking in! I greatly appreciate all of the bids so far and will be on standby this week to answer any questions. My husband purchased this car new the same day that we went on our first date so it's a very special car to me. The car has been extremely well cared for and has been serviced at the dealership since new. When the car was at the dealership in April getting the new pump for the top it was inspected and given a clean bill of health so bid with confidence! Thank you!
These are really fun cars to drive. Had one along side my R129 and would find myself grabbing the SLK keys more often than not. Shockingly low mileage on this one, will be watching!

After owning one of these, there's something special about the R170 compared to later SLK's. It was a great little roadster at the time and a totally manageable size.

Always loved the R170 with the Sport package, so underrated!
Well presented and very nice car. The condition certainly looks up to par for a well cared for 8k mile example!

@49er The first gen Audi TT has just become popular again- bet this will follow suit. Fantastic in silver!
Now this is interesting! Potential investment grade but non AMG so I'm curious to see where this lands.
