These original AMG Japan sales brochures come packaged in the original folder and feature late ‘80s early ‘90s AMG accessories, specifications of AMG built cars, DOHC M117 information, AMG limousine photos, and AMG historical literature. The sales brochures cover chassis such as the W201, W202, W140, W124, W126, and various racecars built and tuned by AMG. The seller has included photos of the entire spread that start in the ‘80s and end in the ‘90s. All of the pages are in excellent condition with no foxing on the pages, very little wear, no water damage, and no UV damage. These rare AMG Japan brochures are located in The U.K. and the seller offers world wide shipping.
These brochures feature accessories sold in period by AMG Japan such as appearance packages and parts, suspension upgrades, wheels, interior upgrades and technology, performance exhausts, and steering wheels. Many of the brochures feature fold out illustrations, pricing, and performance increase statistics.
Also included is the sales information on the DOHC M117 engines seen fitted in the C/W126 S-Class and the AMG “Hammers.” This has pricing and performance statistics included with each engine variant.
Other brochures included in the auction have historical information on AMG and of their racing heritage starting from the 1971 Rot Sow 300SEL 6.8 to the 1995 W202 C-Class DTM race car.
A C202 brochure is featured in this collection as it was the final Mercedes-Benz to get the pre-merge treatment by AMG before they merged with Mercedes-Benz.
This AMG sales brochure collection is rather complete and is in terrific condition. The pages show little wear and fold, there’s no foxing or signs of moisture damage, and the illustrations are sharp and clear with no delamination. In-period pricing, part numbers, and dealer locations and instructions are present on the pages along with old phone numbers and a “Mercedes Fascination” invitation that’s been untouched. This pre-merge AMG brochure collection is nose listed by the private seller out of The U.K. with world wide shipping available.
With pre-merge AMG cars becoming high value collector cars, it’s important to catalog and collect any and all literature on these cars to better understand how they were built back in the day when new. AMG Japan was the biggest market and arguably the most uncataloged and undocumented region to exist. The Japanese economy was an unrelenting juggernaut back in the day and Japanese businessmen with way too much money were attracted to the brand. Driving a left-hand-drive Mercedes-Benz down the streets of Tokyo was the biggest chest puffing flex you could do. Not only is this collection in excellent condition, but includes information that’s hard to find on the internet including AMG Hammer literature which is equally hard to find. There’s also historical racing photography included in the brochures! This collection is incredibly cool to have hosted on The MB Market and is historically important to pre-merge aficionados like ourselves and others.
