This M120 6.0L V12 drivetrain is sourced from a 45k-mile 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL600 (VIN # WDBFA76FXVF146565) and was removed from the car in 2022. The 6.0-liter M120 V12 was factory rated at 389 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque from the factory when new. That power is translated through a 722.621 five-speed automatic transmission. Both the engine control unit and the transmission control unit with crank position sensors are included with the sale allowing for easier installation into a new chassis or project. This M120 powerplant is now offered with NO RESERVE by the seller in Southhampton, NY with compression test results, borescope video footage of the cylinder walls/engine internals, ECU/TCU, exhaust headers, factory accessories and may be picked up locally or crated for shipping.
The 1997 SL600 donor vehicle was a clean title, accident-free example prior to the smoke damage and the R129 was reportedly not directly impacted by any resultant fire or water. The garage where the vehicle was housed was reportedly a separate structure on the property adjacent to the home so, as a result, there was no direct water or fire contact with the donor vehicle.
A video of the powertrain being turned over as well as some borescope footage is viewable below.

WOW! I thought about bidding if I could get it for $2500, I think my 97 with 200k needs a torque converter. I guess I will just rebuild mine. You guys have fun! lol PS: make sure to do a trans service including new conductor plate, and the spring that failed on the early 722.6 if it wasn't done under warranty.
@vlad600sel The car was no title no keys lost in a house fire. the garage was a separate structure but the umbrella insurance policy covered everything. We could not get keys from MB anymore or title

Hello all, We are now just one day from the auction end and I am available for any last minute questions. I suggest checking that your computer/cell phone clocks are set to exact time as if they are not, your bids may not register. Especially since we just had daylight savings. @rubinhoward600 Indeed it is. With verified mileage, borescope proving there is no cylinder wall scoring, and compression readings being 200+ when cold is incredible and makes this example sought after. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find the facelift M120 V12 cars and even more difficult to find parts. Just the accessories on this motor alone are selling for a few thousand used on eBay without verified mileage and likely untested. This is a great example for anyone with an M120 V12 car or even someone looking to build out a car to Pagani or 70/73 spec. I must also mention, the M120 V12 can be mated to a Getrag 6-speed found in many cars like the E39 M5. I have had success mating that manual transmission to an m119 V8 from an S500. It was not too difficult to get the gauges to work either. Best of luck, Stathios
This is quite a rare offering - and already out of the car. No need to take chances to see whether the engine is good or not. From one 600 owner to another... this engine will be incredible no matter what the application. GLWTA
