This Mercedes-Benz glass panoramic removable hardtop is finished in Dark Blue and was built for use on late model R129 series cars of the era with the early cars compatible via slight modification. The top features a steel frame, a glass panoramic roof with a retractable sunshade, glass windows, and Palomino vinyl trim. This R129 SL hardtop is now offered from the seller in Los Angeles, California.
The top is finished in Dark Blue and features a panoramic glass roof and glass windows with painted steel bodywork along the frame. The original glass manufacturer labels from the factory are present on the side windows and visible in the gallery below.
The interior of the top features a retractable sunshade and grab handles on both the driver and passenger sides. The sunshade operates smoothly and extends/retracts as designed without issue.
The non-glass interior surfaces are trimmed in Palomino vinyl and photos showing the condition of the interior surfaces are provided in the gallery. The B-pillar trim has begun to peel as seen in the photos. The top has been tested and all latch points operate correctly when mated with an R129 chassis vehicle. Rubber and felt trim points appear in good condition with no major deterioration or obvious wear.

Crazy price wow
@mfagone777 Not sure, exactly. But it leans navy (as you can see from the photos). Also, doesn't cost much to repaint the two panels, if needed.

@Boatymcboatface Nothing like it in the winter months!
@Stathios Yes, it was a beautiful car. Maybe the most beautiful car I've ever owned. Unfortunately somebody sideswiped me last year and I had to hand it over to the insurance company. Hope to get another one in the next few years.
@trixopt Happy to work with you on this, but would have to be in June. Unless you can arrange a delivery service to come pick-up from zip 90019. It doesn't look like I'm going to hit my reserve, so we can discuss after the auction.
I just finished pulling apart my glass top interior to re glue all the lifting vinyl like this one has. It was surprisingly easy to remove each piece and once I re-glued the lifting edges it was easy to put back together. Wanted to share this in case anyone is worried about that issue with this top. It looks worse than it is.
Would you be able to ship this to Dayton, Ohio? If so, is there a rough estimate of the cost to package and ship?

Oh my god what a beautiful car this must have come off of... Do you still have the car? Id like to buy it and the hardtop
I just put my Panoramic top on my SL600 for the first time in a few years and its so much fun in the winter here in SC. I lube the seals first and the bows for the tops before it drops and no wind noise. If you have a later R129 and live in a place you can use in the winter its awesome, but once its 70 degrees outside really heats up the cabin. I've been tempted to put a UV refracting film on the inside, but not sure if that would harm anything.
