These staggered 18″ Mercedes-Benz Alphard wheels measure 8.5″ and 9.5″ in width and were manufactured by Ronal for Mercedes-Benz in Germany for use on R230 Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The faces feature a polished finish with silver painted inserts and remain in original condition. Dimensions, offsets, and other manufacturer casting marks are present on each wheel and four OEM Mercedes-Benz center caps are included. Older Michelin Pilot Sport tires are installed and included in the sale. These OEM Mercedes-Benz wheels are now offered by the seller in El Monte, California with shipping offered at the buyer's expense.
These five-hole wheels were originally offered as an optional wheel for the R230 SL-Class by the factory and show polished faces with silver painted inserts and include OEM center caps. The single-piece wheel consists of five twisted spokes. Photos of the faces and rears of the wheels can be seen in the gallery. Minor wear from prior use is noted around some of the lug holes. The original finish presents very well.
The 8.5″ front wheels display part number A230 401 1402 with an offset of +35, while the 9.5″ rear wheels show part number A230 401 1802 with an offset of +40. The Mercedes-Benz Order numbers show B66474260 for the fronts and B66474261 for the rears. All four wheels feature a 5x112mm bolt pattern and 66.6mm center bore. Michelin Pilot Sport tires are installed showing older date codes from 2008. There's no visible dry rot or cracks in the tires and the seller recommends using the tires for display purposes or storage only.
The wheels are made by Ronal for Mercedes-Benz and manufacture markings on the back of each wheel along with part numbers, offset and a production mark showing Germany as the place of manufacture.
The MB Market Insights
As one of the most univerally loved wheel designs, the twisted spoke wheel has been used across various manufacturers for decades. The Alphard wheel by Mercedes-Benz is one of the best to ever do it. As an optional wheel for the R230, finding a set has become increasingly difficult as they're one of the rarer choices from the era. The size and offset of the Alphard wheels make them interchangeable on various other Mercedes models, and we've even seen them used on a number of other brands including Volkswagens as well. Whether you're looking to increase the curb appeal of your SL or have another model in need of a bit of flare, these Alphard wheels may be exactly what you're looking for.
