@Kfossumim gonna have to steal that one, never heard them referred to as diving board bumpers i love it, haha. That’s a perfect way to explain them, I have a 72 240z as well and those come factory with thin metal bumpers just like the euro bumpers. But when you look at the later model s30 like the 280z it’s the same body but they added the big diving board bumpers for safety and it just kills the aesthetic on them.
@KfossumThank you! And those were my plans exactly, euro bumpers an amg pre merger steering wheel/or nardi and head liner and the car would have been perfect in my eyes. The euro bumpers make such a dramatic difference, if she doesn’t sell euro bumpers, steering wheel and headliner are In Her near future with me. As regards to the cause the shop said it was my door seal that runs along the top of the door frame where the glass meets, that needed replacing and they see that being the cause a lot of times as they done multiple SL rockers and sill panels from that same problem. I never got around to changing the seal out as the car is always garaged it doesn’t sit outside. But it’s something I’d definitely change down the road
@CraigSuThank you! And yes definitely, I just emailed the restoration shop To send me the invoice in a pdf format so I can save the image and post it here. The metal work was 2000 dollars.
Welcome to the auction, I’m the owner of this beautiful SLC. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive and gets thumbs up without fail anytime I take her out she’s being daily driven lately without any hiccups. Any questions feel free to ask! Happy bidding and good luck to every one
