This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC was previously auctioned on The MB Market in 2023. After the prior auction the owner of the car donated it to the Florida Wildlife Center to be used for fundraising in a raffle. The winner, located in Georgia, chose to gift the SLC to her son who sold it to the current owner and seller in April of 2023. It currently shows 4,024 (TMU) miles on the odometer with approximately 3,500 miles driven by the seller under their ownership. The SLC is finished in Astral Silver (735) over Blue Leather and is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 mated with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 17” monoblock-style wheels, automatic climate control, a power operated sliding sunroof, heat-insulated glass with a heated rear window, cruise control, central locking and power windows. An aftermarket bluetooth Continental head unit sits in place of the factory Becker radio. Recent maintenance includes a comprehensive fuel system overhaul consisting of a restored fuel tank, new strainer, all new lines, new Bosch pump, new filter, new accumulator, new relay, new thermostat, and new resistors. A new battery was also installed for 2025 with a 3-year warranty. It’s currently offered for sale in West Palm Beach by the owner with one key and a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Astral Silver (735) as a repaint in 2019. The rear window was simultaneously replaced. The exterior features chrome trim along the beltline, window trim and bumpers, new headlamps courtesy of the current owner, lower front fog lamps, and a power antenna. The seller reports the driver side rocker panel was replaced under their care as a result of bubbling beneath the paint.
Aftermarket 17” monoblock-style wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season tires measuring 225/45 front and 245/40 rear. The wheels wear a silver finish with a polished lip and feature a Mercedes-Benz star mounted in the center. The wheels are in good condition with no signs of curb rash or damage.
The cabin has been refinished in Blue Leather which can be found on the seats, dashboard, door panels and center armrest with wood trim lining the center console and dashboard. Interior equipment includes automatic climate control with air conditioning, power windows, central locking, cruise control, an aftermarket Continental bluetooth head unit and aftermarket Pioneer speakers. The seller notes the A/C functions when on “high” fan speed. The front seats fold forward to allow access to the second row.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer which sits alongside a 7k-rpm tachometer and an analog clock with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six digit odometer currently shows 4,024 miles and true mileage is unknown.
This C107 is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 which is factory rated at 180 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Maintenance under the prior owner included a set of new spark plugs, an engine oil and oil filter change, a new alternator and new accessory belts. Recent maintenance under current ownership includes a comprehensive fuel system overhaul consisting of a restored fuel tank, new strainer, all new lines, new Bosch pump, new filter, new accumulator, new relay, new thermostat, and new resistors. A new battery was also installed for 2025 with a 3-year warranty.

@Kfossum im gonna have to steal that one, never heard them referred to as diving board bumpers i love it, haha. That’s a perfect way to explain them, I have a 72 240z as well and those come factory with thin metal bumpers just like the euro bumpers. But when you look at the later model s30 like the 280z it’s the same body but they added the big diving board bumpers for safety and it just kills the aesthetic on them.@Davidzetro yeah you’ve done very well putting this together. It’s absolutely beautiful looking through the rest of the pictures. I will tell you that the diving board bumpers are not as hard on the eyes as with other C107 color/wheel combinations - I think it might be the wheels that make it tolerable. Well put together!@Kfossum Thank you! And those were my plans exactly, euro bumpers an amg pre merger steering wheel/or nardi and head liner and the car would have been perfect in my eyes. The euro bumpers make such a dramatic difference, if she doesn’t sell euro bumpers, steering wheel and headliner are In Her near future with me. As regards to the cause the shop said it was my door seal that runs along the top of the door frame where the glass meets, that needed replacing and they see that being the cause a lot of times as they done multiple SL rockers and sill panels from that same problem. I never got around to changing the seal out as the car is always garaged it doesn’t sit outside. But it’s something I’d definitely change down the roadThis is a really nice looking car, with a set of euro bumpers this will be absolutely beautiful - the way it was meant to look. With regards to the rocker work, one of the root causes for rust in front of the rear wheel arch is the opera windows leaking water. Hopefully the shop that did the work confirm that no further water is coming in through there and that the floor under the reat seat is whole. It’s pretty easy to see if the two glass panels have separated from the plastic center sandwich section - a simple tap test will reveal whether the glass pane is rattling or not. And believe it or not, Mercedes sort of planned for moisture in there as the center sandwich section contains a compartment filled with desiccant! Edit: the open cell foam panels underneath the back seat carpet on this one do look nice and hole, usually when they take on moisture, they will expand and crack.@CraigSu Thank you! And yes definitely, I just emailed the restoration shop To send me the invoice in a pdf format so I can save the image and post it here. The metal work was 2000 dollars.Beautiful example! Can you post receipts for the rocker panel work?Welcome to the auction, I’m the owner of this beautiful SLC. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive and gets thumbs up without fail anytime I take her out she’s being daily driven lately without any hiccups. Any questions feel free to ask! Happy bidding and good luck to every one
