Hansjorg bid $6,250

This unique 560 SEL has three very rare and desirable options: 822 300HP ECE engine without emissions control 406 single rear seats with coupe front seats Amaretta upholstery I've been looking at the pictures of this beautiful car for the last few days. I was very tempted of bidding and hopefully owning it. But.......I just can not overcome the cream-beige interior. It's a personal preference. If it were red, black, brazil brown or even blue inside, I would be all over it. P.S. Importation into the USA will be a breeze.
@PerVennemoe Thank you.
Hi, since this car was shipped from Germany to Japan, were there any catalytic converters installed to get it licensed in Japan?
This car is a winner. Besides the non working AC, there is no maintenance backlog. Considering the miles, it's one of the nicest W126 I've seen lately.
@Danijelbre: Your car should have a compliance sticker for the US EPA in the engine compartment. I think it also has a DOT compliance sticker somewhere. If not, you will need the letter from MBZ, which shouldn't be a problem at all since you are the owner. But......you will have to drive the car back to Canada and then officially import it into the USA. That's neither complicated or a nightmare. I've brought in cars from Canada, Europe and Japan. BTW, form 7501 doesn't need to be stamped anymore. I titled several JDM cars at the DMV in Harrisburg without any custom stamps. It will be much easier to sell your car with a US title.
AFAIK, all MBZs sold in North America have a conformity sticker for Canada and the USA. In that case, no letter from the manufacturer needed.
