It’s not too far off now. Please let me know if you have any questions.
@jnewtonThe electrical wiring harness or “biodegrade-able” one was replaced by the previous owner with a custom harness built at “My Mercedes & Bimmer Place” out of Cumming, Georgia. There are no issues with the new harness as it is practically new.
@jnewtonI should add - the current transmission is an original 1995 Mercedes C-Class 202 Type Automatic Transmission (4 speed).
@jnewtonHi - one of the clutch bands failed in the original transmission. I attempted a full trans service first and then upon further inspection the MB tech suggested a rebuild. However, the rebuild process would be time consuming and costly. So, I opted for a swap with a 74,000 mile, used transmission. The current transmission is backed by a one year, 12,000 mile warranty. It received a full trans service including new trans oil and TCU programming by a certified MB master technician. It drives beautifully now - making all changes in the correct timings and adapts to the driver inputs! The original transmission and case can be included with the purchase upon request by the new owner if he or she would like to attempt the rebuild! Thank you!
@raffiHi and thank you for the question. I am not knowledgeable when it comes to the Smog check requirements in California, but I do know this model comes with a catalytic converter. As far as a smog pump, I am not sure. If someone more knowledgeable than me could help answer this that would be great! I did a quick Google search and noticed Bosch makes a pump that might be fitted for this need. Hopefully it wouldn’t take much, as these 4 cylinder engines should have a low carbon footprint as they come.
@refusednameHi and thank you for the question! I purchased this car after it was imported and legal to drive. The previous owner acquired this vehicle from Origin Auto Salon out of Georgia, a JDM focused car importation business. According to their website they are a bonded importer in accordance with NHTSA regulations. However, no documentation or paperwork for the federalization was provided to me at the time of the sale. The title was previously registered in Georgia and now in Tennessee. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
