@giantsteps @mgtotheb No reserve is not met yet. The speaker covers being dirty is a very common thing to happen with a light colored SL. It's right where you need to move your legs to get out of the car and if you're on the taller side you're bound to touch it with your shoes 50% of the time. Would be a waste of money to replace them because they will get dirty again unless you're super careful. Yes the seats aren't perfect by any means however I always say that it's better to keep the leather original unless the seats are torn. The underside is in good shape and the suspension rubber is quiet. No weird creaks going over speed bumps. I have sold 6 R129 SL's and this on one of the nicest examples I've had falling short to a mint one owner Sl600. Good luck in these final hours of the auction!
@giantsteps I am not sure how to operate the multi-contour seats and I cannot find much info about it online. All I know is that it comes standard with the SL600 but was an option for the SL500. Same with the steering wheel; wood steering wheel is an option for this car but came standard on the SL600 - this car is loaded! Yes there is a reserve, I cannot disclose what that reserve is but I think the number is very reasonable with the current market. Especially for how nice this one is and all the features it has. @giantsteps I unfortunately will not be able to get any undercarriage shots. I can assure you the undercarriage is free of rust and there are no leaks to our knowledge. I'll test the contour functions soon.

@giantstepsFuture repairs would be a bit hard to say however these cars are good to you if you're good to them. Change the fluids, spark plugs, and any other little things that show up and major repairs will be minimized. Every function is fully operating including the seat heaters and other switches There are no other missing trim pieces. It is actually very common for the vanity mirrors to break off. The plastic is very fragile. I believe I have them still with the car laying around somewhere but I will need to double check. The carpet has a few areas of discoloration however with a good detailer, they should be able to make it look really clean. Same goes for the trunk The trunk CD changer does work I do not know the story for the glass being replaced. I have replaced a rear windshield for a panoramic roof as well. They get shipped from the factory in Germany. The soft top has been replaced. It has the new smell and the plastic windows are as clear as day. Two keys that both work as they should. I'll provide images of them promptly. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

@babtainy you might be better off driving down here to pick it up if you end up winning. You're not far enough away for it to make sense to ship it as I could imagine it would cost a few hundred dollars. Road trip your R129!
@ferraril1971 The missing trim piece can actually be found off of a standard hardtop which is very common as every single R129 came with one. Plenty of them for sale everywhere. Same goes for the scuffed piece on the outside. It can be found from a standard hardtop. You could always go to a body shop and see if it is something repairable as it's not too serious however taking it from another hardtop may be a better bang for your buck. So if you have a regular hardtop with the tan interior then you are set! If not you could realistically find one for 300-500 dollars.
@240Dturboyea it's really just a hit or miss with these tops. Honestly it isn't even something you absolutely need because usually it's hard to get the rear window to frost up and even then just blast the heater and it should go away on its own.
@240DTurbo yes I tested in on my black SL and it appeared to work correctly.
@harry19funny you mention that I did have a set of chrome ones that were brand new however I just sold them. If I am satisfied with the turnout of this auction I can guarentee more listings here in the future!
Hello everybody! This is my first of hopefully many auctions on this website. I have sold a few panoramic roofs and R129 Sl's in the past through Bring A Trailer under the username "Brandonpreim". If anybody wants to see my work and as a credibly check, please refer to my history there. This panoramic roof will be sold with the stand and cover. The roof itself is in pretty good condition. Flaws include the missing trim piece, the scuff which can be seen in the photo gallery, and a few small scratches on the paint. The glass is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips anywhere. Also the retractable sunshade is in perfect operating condition and retracts fine with no jamming or hesitation. I also urge people who are interested to understand that it's ok if the paint color or interior color does not match. A repaint of the hardtop would cost under a thousand dollars and the trim pieces can be removed quite easily and can be re-dyed. These roofs can be sold for any color combination assuming you're willing to spend some extra cash to match the car. Especially consider the fact that finding the exact color combo may be very difficult to impossible. If anybody has any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
